Michigan vs. Purdue basketball open thread
It looks like they are playing not to foul.
Since I'm at work, am watching GameCast, which is absolutely nerve-wrecking.
At this point in time, I'm expecting "Trey Burke misses layup" then "Trey Burke offensive rebound" and finally "Trey Burke made three point jumper, assisted by (yours truly) Trey Burke (hello it's me again)".
Burke-a-mania?
You cannot haz inbound to McGarry. Please.
Burke makes both FTs and essentially ices the game up 4 with 20 seconds remaining.
money on the table.
$10 to $70 that Burke makes both FT.
The "Cooper Tires" signs on the back of the court chairs are a classy touch!
U MAD? LOL
FUCK YES AGAIN!
Burke:
25 points on 17 shots. 5 REB, 7 AST, 2 STL... and only 1 TO.
Totally gonna send Beilein my cardiologists' bill (is it over? is it safe to look?)
Thanks, Trey!
Hallelujah! Thank you Ohio State!!!!
...there are a lot of road games coming up.
Feels like we stole one there, but a win is a win.
BEAT IU!
Thank god. More relief than joy.
Man, fuck road games. Bring on the Hoosiers. IN CRISLER.
we won because we wanted it enough. we played hard, fought back, and deserved to win.
Another momentum builder.
Hello Hoosiers. Hello Championship Sunday!
But seriously, happy for the win, but let's never talk about this game ever again.
W00T!
so it's only fair to admit that Nik's clutch FTs showed a mental toughness that I didn't think he had. The 3 was a big momentum shot, but repeated FTs are a real test of a player's head. There's not bodies flying all around to distract you. Well done, Nik.
Was not feeling well about this game at the ~12:00 minute mark (2nd half), but I guess who was? Sh*t though, the team responded (Trey primarily) and got their asses in gear. Terone Johnson kept doing his thing but other than him no other Purdue guys were hurting us after that. Stole one there, I don't think there's any doubt about that, but that's what good teams do. They rally, and unlike Penn St., they didn't fully collapse and played through the tough spell(s). On to the next, on, on to the next one.
the country - going to win it all. My negative comment earlier in this thread was merely a brilliant use of reverse psychology on my part.....I'm a friggin genius
This win was important. Will we win NCAAs, probably not, but it gives the kids something to build on; a quality-come-from-behind-on-the-road-win-against-a-team-with-nothing-to-lose victory.
