Apparently being recruited as an LB.
Mod edit: Added his name to the title. No need to leave everyone in suspense, as fun as it may be. JGB.

Brother of UW OL Ray Ball. I like it. Marcus is a very solid player to get in on this late in the game. I was expecting someone a little more under the radar.

The kids a baller. Do we get any commitments this weekend? I say Dawson recommits. His twitter is riddled with #team134, #goblue. He has been steadily talking to the majority of incoming class. Looks good.

I don't know much about Marcus Ball, but this quote from two weeks ago about his committment to the Badgers is interesting:
“I'm done now. I'm loyal. If God hits you and says this is how you feel, why go visit other places. I don't want to be of those guys committed and unloyal.” source
I'll bet the kid's interest is pretty high. He doesn't strike me as the type to just take advantage of a free trip to AA.

Why should he have to stay loyal when their coach just packed up and left?

Here's some of the selected film available on Hudl.com
Intermixed in here are some highlights of him at a few positions, and he looks pretty solid at just about anywhere he plays. He seems very quick and athletic and able to get to the ball or ball carrier depending on where he is playing. This would not be a bad pickup.

Taco tweeted that Ball was coming last week. I didn't even realize this was a mystery...
Anyways, would love to have him.

He plays for my high skewl, Westerville South. Seen him play 4-5 times this year. Kid can play just about any position on the field. QB, RB, WR, LB, CB, S...pretty crazy. He is a great athelete. Hoping he goes blue. Wish they would give him a chance at WR.

Kids spell things these days. Brian even calls poop "pewp," so chill the fuck out

just trying to interject some humor...crucify me. And yes, Westerville South is one of the top high schools in the united states of America, so I think he possesses all the academic prowess necessary to be successful at UM.

I graduated in 2008, and am now a college graduate. I like to go back and watch the games as often as I can to support my alma mater. And yes, I am 100% dead serious at WR. Kid is a beast, no matter where he lines up. Absolute threat.

I've heard a lot worse on the football field.... and i'm sure if you miced players up even at the University of Michigan you'ld here a lot worse. People complain about trash talking in basketball lol obviously never played football

Maybe he'll end up at WDE. Obviously 6'3 is different than 6'7 so they're different players - but he also has similar measurements to what Frank Clark was listed at in HS.

This would be a big steal-great athlete-played qb last year and was nasty. switched to receiver when they went to pro style. Can play hoops too. Probably be a DB or LB. I like this. I live in Westerville Ohio where he goes to Westerville South HS and he's for real-Not sure why he's not a 4*
December 15th, 2012 at 12:31 AM ^
From what I have seen out of him he is definitely 4* material. Central Ohio HS football is no cake walk, especially the cardinal division. He had huge games against some of the best teams in the state. He nearly single handidly carried the team to an upset of the overall number one seed in the playoffs. If WS wouldnt have had to deal with some many late season injuries to key players, we would have made a deep run in the playoffs.

23: OG - David Dawson
24: S - Delano Hill
25: LB - Marcus Ball
26: CB - Reon Dawson
27: OL - Kenny Lacy / Dan Skipper / Cameron Hunt
28: RB - Derrick Green
If we're going to take 28, I'd certainly love to see a Steve Breaston/Adrian Arrington type WR on the list, but I'll take this...NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
