He was definitely one of the most impressive backs during the scrimmage. I haven't watched the video yet, so I'm not sure if they showed the play where Cox got caught up in the backfield and ran back and forth from side line to side line and got a 1st down. That was the most impressive run, IMO.

sorry guys but after watching that video we're in serious trouble. looks just like last year. Sheridan is going to start, at least he thinks so.

im sorry but a guy who has made almost 2000 comments on a blog in like a month is pretty pathetic. like what do you do all day? sit here and press f5 all day hoping someone will talk to you? that's pretty sad man, I read this blog all the time and ur the first guy to comment on everything. like rod said, get a life.

im just saying man it's sad to see someone sit here all day and make silly comments. you must cream your pants when you see a new topic come up bc you have been refreshing ur broswer for 5 straight minutes with nothing. our team isn't going to be good this year deal with it. take off the maize shaded glasses bro. im a michigan man but a realistic one. its geeks like you that make people around the country hate michigan fans.

If you really read this blog all the time you would know how the point system works since Brian made it pretty clear (at least for those who can, you know, read and comprehend said reading) how it works. We need the Coner to make a FAIL rap vid and have a button on each post in which we can easily insert it when necessary, i.e. now.

I was commenting more on the QB play. If you watch the spring game from last year it's pretty brutal. Obviously it's hard to say anything for sure since really that clip only shows the highlights and mostly from an offensive perspective. But compared to what we were watching at this time last year this looks much better. Epinion.

to the untrained eye the qb would look better for 2 reasons. 1) there is an offensive line now and 2) the defense has less talent and depth than last year. if you can believe it, our defense is actually worse than last year. coupled w a real line and you get qb play that looks better.

I think Salma Hayek would date me, if she would only return my emails. What else is Sheridan supposed to think? He will probably get a little bit of playing time, and although he played poorly last year, I give him a lot of credit for working hard, improving his game, and mentoring the freshmen. Kudos to Sheridan.

Let's wait until the first game before figuring out if it's going to be another long year. I find it hard to believe that someone can make a judgment on a team's success based off a 3 minute video of a scrimmage, especially since the video only showed THE HIGHLIGHTS.

I went to the Minnesota public scrimmage yesterday at their new stadium and sat through 4 12 minute quarters. MIKE COX is a better running back, now, than anything the Lolphers have (and Cox is currently 5th on the depth chart). All in all, there is no comparison with the talent levels at the two schools. The Lolphers have maybe 4 guys (QB Weber - MAYBE, WR Decker, DE McKinley, and DB Simmons) who would start for Michigan right now. Have faith in Michigan.

I want to see the defense at full speed. I want to see that their positioning is better, angles are better and no more arm tackles, put a shoulder on somebody and wrap up. If those things are happening I'll be very happy. The camera shots were very tight, hard to tell if the D was reading the plays correctly. Still, good to see some game style action.

The defensive players tackling looked awful, albeit it is a scrimmage and it was second and third team defenders..Denard looks very serviceable, although his release is a bit corky..he throws a good ball..im sure we will see Tate start Sept. 5 but Denard will play as well..

Denard's release on short passes looks weird. But I don't know how much we can say about the D from 3 minutes of highlights. Usually highlights don't show players getting tackled by the first defender.

The Tate/Denard debates and the apparent softness of the defense should be taken with a grain of salt here, a la Weapon of Choice. There's a whole lot we don't get to see in these short highlights. For example, a slight mention that goes unnoticed unless you're really paying attention, but they say that Tate gets the offense into the end zone on his second drive--i.e., the defense was able to stop one of his drives that but it isn't really shown. There were 125 plays in this scrimmage, there were probably somewhere around 50 or so that contributed to scoring drives (that we were shown/heard about). That will be all.

After watching the video, I'm really excited about how much depth we have in our offensive skill positions. We're going to constantly rotate in fresh legs and be making plays all over the field. Very exciting.

Based on limited, flimsy evidence off the various highlight videos and what RR has said, I think Sheridan will be the starter on Sept 5. To me, he looks the smoothest and most comfortable with everything around him. No question both Tate and Denard have more talent and will likely play more than Sheridan as the year goes on, but I believe RR will go with experience to start the first game. All of them are going to play in that first game, and the week two starter will likely be determined based off who plays the best in the western game. I dont think anyone should be concerned if Sheridan starts game 1.

Sheridan is not starting. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play at all. He might only play if Tate and Denard play poorly or we are up big. If he does it will most likely only be for one series. I don't know if we want 3 QBs playing in one game. We're not the Lions.

He said that as of right now he thought all three qbs would play against Western. I dont want them all playing either, but it looks like they are going to. I still think based on what I have seen (very limited) and heard, that Sheridan starts. Either way he is going to be in sometime in the first half.

QB situation obviously looks a lot better than last year, including Sheridan. Defense looks bad; tackling looks awful. What hasn't been said yet?
