Shane Morris interview at The Opening - via ESPN chat
I know you're kidding, but I can't stand people who tweet @ recruits.
Shane says that no one from the class is leaving. I would guess that in the end we may lose a player but if he is not worried right now, then I am not either. I thinking waiting around for someone to de-commit will drive you crazy for the next 7 months.
I'm not worried, either, but history suggests Shane Morris will be proven wrong sometime before February.
Blasphemy!
What if SHANE is going to decommit and take everyone with him to Indiana? That's why they aren't bothering to recruit anyone - the cats are all in the bag!
@Smitdog: Here's the thing. It's people like you that turn simple tweets into widespread viral rumors about a guy potentially decommiting, that eventually lead to more and more comments taking things out of context and changing words around (like "ditching"), that eventually leads to blog posts from idiots in Ohio, the eventually leads to articles on recruiting sites with inflammatory headlines meant to sucker people into paying to read them.
There are no winners in this situation. You may think that you'll be a winner if he eventually decommits... because you told us so! But then we just won't like you even more.
I doubt it's anything to worry about, but do you mind elaborating on what the tweet said? I'm not a follower of David's.
I don't follow him either, but sarah hughes tweeted about it and said that apparently the michigan commits ditched dawson, and he was now hanging out with the florida commits.
also, in the interview espn did with one of the florida guys, he specifically mentioned trying to flip dawson. Something to watch out for to say the least.
ok, so here's what he tweeted a couple of hours ago:
"Michigan cats left me ..smh" immediately followed by "Cooling w/ the UF boys"
take it for what its worth. (ie, not much). hopefully its nothing and hes just messing with his guys. hopefully shane remedies that asap. not sure if shane had made it to the opening yet when this was tweeted.
Meh, sounds like some good-natured ribbing to me.
Shane and co. ditching Dawson wasn't intentional I would imagine. I read the ESPN interview earlier as well and although the Florida guys were talking about flipping Dawson, Shane made it pretty clear Dawson was still solid on us. It's the first day of the camp so I wouldn't make anything of it unless it is a reoccuring ordeal over the next three days.
I wouldn't make anything of it even if it is a reoccurring thing. Try to think back to when you were in high school. Jokes get beaten to death and then resurrected and beaten again. It's called being a kid. Actually it happens as an adult too, so really it's just called being a human being who doesn't take life too seriously. If he takes a visit to Florida I'll worry.
If you guys are going to change "left" into "ditching" why dont you change the words around in the Florida tweet too so the connotation will fit your point. I would suggest changing the word "Cooling" maybe to "talking about our future" or "bonding" if you want it to have full effect.
no mgofreakout from me. que sera, sera... i dont actually worry bout any of it, just find twitter to be a useful place to find info from time to time. was reposting to indulge the request above asking about what the tweet said.
Maybe Joe Mathis is going to UF and that's why that guy at that one camp said they were going to be teammates anyways! Where's the panic button with the rainbows and unicorns when we need it most!
Another tweet that I saw that was raised my eyebrow was this one, by Josh Winslow.
Michigan verbal top-10 OG David Dawson still planning to camp at UF's Friday Night Lights, despite Hoke policy against commits taking trips.
I haven't seen any confirmation of this or it being denied by anyone. I haven't even seen it adressed by anyone else, but if true, I'd hope Hoke handles it the same as he has in the past.
I think camping is a different issue, if Dawson were to go on a tour I think Hoke might have a concern. NTFC camps happen in popular college football towns so there is no reason to think that he can attend those camps without attending this one. But discliamer, my name is not Brady Hoke and I am not termendous so I can just be talking from my butt.
That's something I thought as well, but at the same time, it is directly affiliated with Florida, so it'll be interesting to see what Hoke does.
I know OSU has a Friday Night Lights thing as well. I'm not 100% sure if it's a camp, but I think it is. More importantly, it's a huge recruiting tactic of theirs, so I want to see whether Hoke treats this as a camp or a visit.
Friday Night Lights is essentially Florida's BBQ at the Big House. It's a pure recruiting thing. I'm not Brady Hoke, either, but I think it would violate Hoke's policy.
the "Magnus is Coach Hoke" thing can die now.
On to the next question: with the constant overselling, is Magnus actually Fred Jackson?
You're one of the best posters we've had here. You're like MGoShoe, but faster. And like MGoJen except hotter.
My first double post, please forgive me.
I don't like that policy in this situation. It's not like he is scheduling an official visit on a random weekend just to spend time at the university. This is a camp, won't rivals, scout, 24/7 be there? Dawson has shown that he enjoys participating in camps and testing his abilities.
return. I trust David to make a sound decision and I trust the coaches to be able to handle the situation that is best for the kid and school
David is all Blue. His father (who recently passed) wanted him in the Maize and Blue. I really wouldnt worry about him and say let him go kick some ass in FL
I've never heard of him before and cites no sources. Is he affiliated with any recruiting service? It just looks like wishful thinking from a guy in Columbus, OH trying to continue to fuel this.
Unless I hear it straight from the kid's mouth (and I don't mean overanalyzing his twitter feed) or a real Michigan analyst, I am not even going to worry about this one.
It caught me by suprise today when I noticed that Boubacar Cissoko plays for the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League.
It's nice to see he's landed on his feet, or at least seems to be doing better than Tate.
Shane Morris is going to make a GREAT coach when Brady Hoke retires and he wins his 4th Superbowl on his way to a H.O.F career...Too much? Go BLUE!!
