'All-in' tickets stolen :(
Once I saw the posts about people starting to get their 'all-in' packages in, my excitement was growing. I figured being in Canada, it may take a few extra days to clear customs etc...
I got the envelope in the mail, already opened, and no tickets!!!! Whoever stole them, left the stadium guide and constrution guide but took the tickets!! Man I was so pissed.
I talked to the M ticket office, and they said 'oh your the first one this year.' Is this a common occurence????? I am sending them the police report and signing something akin to 'I didn't recieve them or sell them' and they are replacing them for me. Sucks for whoever buys them second or thirdhand from a scalper and they don't get in...
My main problem is this: they won't resend them. I've offered to pay for a courier service, but no. They will be waiting for me at opener, problem is I am at a wedding that weekend and can't make it!
Any suggestions? I am 5 hours away and can't feasibly make a trip simply to pick up the tickets.
Thanks for any ideas in advance.
ps. gone on vacation Sunday-Wednesday, will check back then.
Man that really sucks. Do you have any family that is closer who could go get them?
You really can't blame them for not mailing them to you again - adaptive move on their part. Someone is keeping an eye out for packages from UM somewhere along that route - perhaps there are common points of travel among carriers, making even courier service iffy.
I picked mine up at the stadium office last year. It was a smooth, trouble-free process. But it was the opener. However, my impression is that they will be waiting for you when you make it to a game. I am sure many have this issue. If they are holding your tickets, your tickets are not going anywhere. Which is the point.
EDIT: Want to add that it sucks that this happened. Don't mean to sound so callous.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
that would really piss me off man, sorry that that happened.
I think they should start sending tickets over the interwebz...I'm always nervous that somebody is going to jack my tickets too. Of course, all of the old milkshakes would have a fit if they had to use the e-webz to get their tickets.
But I will pick them up for you on that weekend and send them to you (seriously.) No consideration needed, I just want to help a fellow M fan out...plus, I'm from Canada as well and want Michigan football to get bigger across the border. I won't be going to the game but will be in Ann Arbor that day to watch it at a bar with friends
Seriously, let me know if you want me to and if this is a possibility. Respond to this post and we can exchange information if you think this is feasible.
tickets but the person that paid for the tickets. Especially after someone kept stealing them.
I imagine if you don't pick them up for the opener they'll continue to hold on to them for when you actually do pick them up, no?
Good luck with that hate to see a fellow fan jipped (gypped, jipt?) out of tickets. I especially feel bad for whoever buys your old ones off the internet or something and is unable to get in.
jipped, gypped: a derogatory term from the early 1700s referring to gypsies, who were largely regarded to be traveling thieves. Thus, when an upstanding taxpayer found something missing, fellow upstanding taxpayer would say "Me thinks ye have been bloody gypsied. Let's chase those bloody buggers out of town!" And thus the process continued, the dirty thieving gypsies never finding a permanent home until eventually given land in the USofA. This land was later named Ohio. Usage evolved into "gypped" or "jipped".
Wow. thanks for that, seriously. gotta love well-educated Michigan bloggers.
If you're willing to let me use the WMU tix, and maybe sell me a pair for another good game at face(?), I will pick them up and arrange for you to meet me the following weekend to get them. Let me know if that sounds fair to you. You can find my email on the ticket spreadsheet sticky at the top of MGoBoard. I live near Jackson.
You're a regular Mother Teresa.
I figured what the hell, he can't be around for that weekend anyway. I assumed people would see this as being selfish, but oh well.
my condolences.
Not that the US system is "better," but I used to deal with the Canadian Mail system for a previous job. They gave me headaches to no end. Good luck getting your tickets.
I would turn into the punisher and seek out those who have wronged you.
What sec. and row are your tickets in. Might be a good idea to post if you don't mind that way if any sees these tickets being sold we can alert someone, and make sure no one gets scammed.
WMU SEC 12 ROW 10 SEATS 13-16
ND SEC 4 ROWS 13,14 SEATS 1,2 (piggyback)
EMU 21, 2, 22-25
IND 43, 87, 13-16
DEL ST. 44, 14, 1-4
PSU 38, 62, 26-29
PUR 43, 74, 5-8
OSU 6, 5, 26-29
Don't buy these tickets, they will be invalid and you will not be admitted to the game.
Realistically, who's gonna come back and check this post to see if the scalper/stubhub etc is selling these tickets, but here they are anyways.

i'll add this info to the MGoBoard ticket spreadsheet.
That really blows. Someone will probably pay a pretty penny for the OSU, ND, and PSU tickets.
I wonder if they will show up on craigslist or stubhub, or if someone will just sell them saturday before the game - never to be seen again.
I appreciate your offers though at the moment, I am probably going to send a friend down with my credit card and he can go to the game.
Its actually a 4 pack of tickets...my concern is that there are a couple of games I was hoping to sell ie Del St., EMU, maybe Purdue, and not having the tickets in advance really sucks.
M ticket office did give me my seats and some are pretty sweet:
ND SEC 4 ROW 13,14 (piggyback) seats 1,2. Super pumped about 2 aisle seats!
EMU 25 yard line ROW 2.
I suspect the theft happened on US side of postal service. No offence to US Americans, but the possibility of someone in the a)ann arbour area b)whatever regional sorting area is in Michigan seems infinetly higher than someone in Hamilton/Toronto area waiting for some M season tickets to pass through. Could also be at the border. 0 chance of finding the guy and he smartly didn't steal the entire envelope so there's no way to determine at what sorting station along the way this happened.
Internet tickets would definetly solve the problem, at least as an option.
Love that you spelled offense offence.
Also like Ann Arbor as Ann Arbour.
Is that how it's spelled in Canada?
Perhaps inadvertently; perhaps not; our Canadian friend has stumbled upon the original spelling of the city at its founding: Annarbour. +1
That sucks. I wonder how many tickets get jacked every year.
When I received my all in package my tickets some of my tickets had been separated and my Eastern Michigan tickets did not match the ones I was told I would receive when I ordered the tickets. And the little red numbers on the back of the Eastern Michigan tickets aren't in order with the rest of my tickets.
Does this seem odd or strange to anyone else?

That does sound strange. I'd call your local police department, and have them dust the envelope and the tickets to see if there is any Tim Horton donut residue present. If there is, we may have unearthed a major cross-border All-in ticket package swindle.

And by police, you mean "mounties". Ahh Candadia
Does this mean I'll be arrested and beaten viciously by the LAPD when I try to enter Michigan Stadium with the diseased Eastern Michigan tickets you're mailing me, Ray?

I'm calling the ticket office on Monday to make sure there will be no problem with your tickets. It just seemed a little strange why those were different but by the time they are in your hands there will be no problem.
