Several people on twitter are saying he chose Iowa.

So.....Sam Webb is hearing wrong then? Please say yes.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:00 AM ^
Per the Twitter, Sam Webb says that it looks like he chose Iowa. Conflicting experts?
Side note, is there something about our recruiting pitch that is making it more difficult to close these late deciding kids?

How is this flamebait?
Further down in the thread someone made the comment that Brady Hoke is not building a reputation as a closer. That's not marked "flamebait." I love this blog, but sometimes it's not the most welcoming place.
I know there's a lot that goes into the commitment process, and chances are if we've been after these recruits for a long time and they still haven't committed to us, well then there's probably something holding them up. Nevertheless, coaches overcome those hurdles all the time. I simply tried to stoke conversation about what could be going on. I very much appreciate the class that we've got coming, but ideally, I would like to see additions made to it.

Someone's on a late night power trip.
January 30th, 2012 at 5:02 AM ^
TONS of oversensitive nancys on this board.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:00 AM ^
curses and cranberries!
January 30th, 2012 at 12:01 AM ^
Well my weekend can't possibly get much worse.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:01 AM ^
But i'll must settle for this P-Chem homework instead...
January 30th, 2012 at 12:02 AM ^
I'm working on PChem as well.
Well... trying to anyway.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:03 AM ^
Are you in 260?
January 30th, 2012 at 12:04 AM ^
No. 230.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:05 AM ^
How's 230? 260 is a bitch.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
Not too bad.
The homework is pretty easy, but this exam on Tuesday might be tough.
A lot of it is review from high school chem so far.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:10 AM ^
Your teacher?
January 30th, 2012 at 12:15 AM ^
Gottfried. She's the only one this semester.
Good luck on Orgo. Those exams blow.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:21 AM ^
8 or 9? I'm in the 8. Something about manipulating numbers in 230 (and physics and math) short circuits my brain. Oh well.
I actually liked orgo, especially orgo 2. Orgo 2 lab was the most fun I've had in chemistry.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:23 AM ^
9. Glad I don't have class at 8am on Friday.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:24 AM ^
I'm with you on that one. I actually really liked orgo 2 as well. It's pretty much the reason I'm a biochem major.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:23 AM ^
That someone keeps marking these as off topic. They might not pertain to Kozan to Iowa, but honestly IMHO, it's a lot better than the crushing depression filling the board tonight.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:09 AM ^
Orgo test on tuesday lol
January 30th, 2012 at 12:28 AM ^
= death. Gotta long semester in front of me
January 30th, 2012 at 1:10 AM ^
In the fall is it that bad?
January 30th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
fellow chemists? booya
January 30th, 2012 at 12:09 AM ^
But we're all in the same boat. The same nerdy nerdy boat.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:17 AM ^
When people ask about my research, they just think I'm really smart. Nerdy, but also smart. lol
January 30th, 2012 at 12:02 AM ^
Strike three!
Alright. We used to like ... get recruits, right? What the hell is happening? I must have gotten spoiled by those frequent 'twin hello' posts we used to get.
January 30th, 2012 at 10:34 AM ^
Seriously. I must have pissed someone off because suddenly all of my posts are getting negged. If I was being all hostile and stuff, okay... but seriously. Que paso, hombre?
January 30th, 2012 at 10:58 AM ^
It's the middle-schoolers (in mentality if not in age) who are now infesting this site. I suppose it's an unavoidable consequence of MGoBlog's popularity, but some days the commenting—and the juvenile, gratuitous negging—doesn't seem far off from MLive. If Brian and the mods don't take advantage of the voting details feature and start getting control of things, MGoBlog will become the equivalent of a middle-school cafeteria.
January 30th, 2012 at 11:02 AM ^
Nice. Good to hear that the posts of someone like yourself are also getting negged. I've got good company, it seems.
Now back to my regularly scheduled overinfatuation with all things Michigan Football...
January 30th, 2012 at 12:02 AM ^
Somebody get Hoke a clip of Alec Baldwin's speech in Glengarry Glen Ross because we are striking out left and right.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:03 AM ^
Hmm well Brady Hoke not exactly making a reputation for himself as a great closer. Oh well, still one hell of class.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:05 AM ^
We overlooked this class lately and have been spending too much time on next years class. Lesson learned..
January 30th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
commits in June count just as much as commits on signing day. People just notice late commits more.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:10 AM ^
As early as this staff did, its easy for fans to get spoiled. Look what these coaches did with kids they didn't recruit.
Everybody put the revolver down. The world its not coming too an end. Stay positive furgodsakes...we have a great class coming in...seemingly great kids and we will get a couple more quality kids!
Go Blue!
January 30th, 2012 at 2:17 AM ^
way to get all pissy because some of us aren't ready to jump off the cliff.
enjoy your miserable life.
January 30th, 2012 at 8:06 AM ^
Seriously, everyone needs to grow up.
"Hoke can't close!"
Shut up
January 30th, 2012 at 12:03 AM ^
This weekend has been worse then the time I sat on a pine cone. Now just wait to hear about grant going to oklahoma and we can finish this agony
January 30th, 2012 at 12:03 AM ^
Garnett was initially a long shot, as was Reeves, as was Kozan. Shouldn't be a surprise. Disappointing yes, but there is still one hell of a class coming to AA in 2012.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:04 AM ^
January 30th, 2012 at 12:04 AM ^
Well, the depth chart for center will certainly be ... interesting ... in a couple of years.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:10 AM ^
there is no way we close out this class with our current OL group. we have no depth, especially if lewan leaves after this coming year. hoke and co will almost certainly flip someone on sigining day a la roy roundtree, even if they have to reach a bit for a 3* type with some upside.

What's going on with this world!
January 30th, 2012 at 12:06 AM ^
In like a lion, out like a lamb. Ohio State is out recruiting us and will not even miss a beat with the sanctions. Looks like OSU is positioning themselves well to have another 8 year run.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
Overreact much?
