Joshua Garnett update (good) *with EDIT
A certain recruiting ninja that I trust (and you do to) says that
THIS: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/joshua-garnett-update-not-good
is not true at all.
Out of respect to the paysite and the recruiting ninja, I won't say anymore. And I didn't want to post this in the other thread where it could be missed.
Do not write Garnett off just yet, we still have a good shot.
EDIT: The certain recruiting ninja also believes (in cryptic fashion) that it is between two schools: Michigan, and a school not named Michigan. From a football standpoint, I really like our chances. But Garnett has proved that he is putting a lot of wieght in other aspects of his choice.
From a post below, he plans on deciding around January 25 or 26.

maybe he was including cents as part of the 7 figures?
December 16th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
Haha, that makes it WAY less impressive. And I don't want those doctors operating on me.

... lawful evil? j/k

I logged in just so I could say +1 to you. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Well, we all know that Ganrett is a level 12 half-ogre roadgrader, so I would assume...chaotic neutral. Duh.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:45 AM ^
This was funny, thanks for the laugh.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
I guess I am not as geeky/nerdy as I once thought. Hell, I must be a regular Han Solo. Ah, damn it, there I go again.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:02 AM ^
Yes, where is the "Joshua Garnett update (Ugly)" Thread, Sergio Leone would be very disappointed with the lack of progression in these threads...
December 16th, 2011 at 10:18 AM ^
He'll make the right decision for him, and if it is Michigan, great. For some reason I don't worry at all about what he is doing in recruiting. I guess it is because the antics of some of the others bring out the parent in me and scream that they need guidance. Garnett doesn't.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:19 AM ^
he had UM in his top 5 6 weeks before signing day. this means that UM was not in his bottom 115, which is good for top 4% of all college football.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:20 AM ^
Yeah Magnuson on Twitter was like...damn people chill out with the rumors.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
I wonder if these kids ever feel uncomfortable with all of the facebook/twitter stalking that goes on. On the plus side at least we still have a shot! MICH!
December 16th, 2011 at 10:23 AM ^
I love the title of this thread - I like to know if a thread about a recruit is good or bad before opening it so I don't get my hopes up only to read bad news.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:36 AM ^
bad....(Damn leftovers...)

Sounds like you don't have a Chick-fil-A downstairs in your building! That's unfortunate because a #1 combo with special sauce is sounding very good right about now . . .
December 16th, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
I'm certain I must order incorrectly because whenever I've eaten at C-F-A, it's always been spectacularly underwhelming. Is there some nuanced enjoyment of chicken breast sandwich on white bread bun that I'm incapable of perceiving? I assume it's me because the restaurant seems to enjoy near universal approval.
Okay, I just had to get that off my chest. It always occurs to me around bowl time when Chick Fil A seems at its height of popularity.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:27 PM ^
Down here in the South, its good all year round.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:32 PM ^
I don't get the fried chicken sandwich, but the grilled chicken sandwich tastes spectacular.
December 16th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
was my favorite. Good eatin,no doubt!
December 16th, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
Not that I don't want them, but I'd rather have someone that truly wants to be here. If they go elsewhere, I'll wish them the best. In the meantime, I'm not going to worry about what a 16 or 17 year old thinks he is going to be doing next year. We've seen too many 4 and 5 stars fizzle and walk-ons excel to get into an uproar one way or the other.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:38 AM ^
Of all our current recruits Garnett's decision time frame is one of the later ones (January 25th/26th) What if the class is filled up by then? OL is still the biggest position of need at this point. How do you think the coaches would handle that situation? After a strong showing in the Sugar Bowl I can see a couple commitments. Thoughts?
December 16th, 2011 at 10:48 AM ^
I'm sure they have contingency plans for almost all scenarios. David Perkins is a good example. The timing on the Dunn announcement made it possible for them to open up recruiting with Perkins. If Dunn had waivered for much longer and Perkins wasn't available, I'm sure they had other options.

As a non-objective observer, this staff really seems to have their shit together.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:07 AM ^
And Diamond is deciding later.

for (me and) my dad for Christmas from MDen yesterday!
December 16th, 2011 at 11:02 AM ^
Knew it. There is no way someone would take two visits to UM and want to be a doctor and not think about coming here till the last second.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:03 AM ^
The ship has sailed.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:02 PM ^
Here we go again . . .

Guys, this poster is trustworthy. He has access to insider sources that the rest of us could only dream of having. And even then, the number of insider sources in our dreams would still be less than half in quantity, and far inferior in quality.
Ok, maybe not.
December 16th, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
Well if Ace Williams says so.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:18 AM ^
You should link to the paysite, no? That would be a service to them for their hard work.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:23 AM ^
The information is posted inside a forum, so there is not even a teaser link.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:20 AM ^
That something I posted is absolutely wrong.

That in Belgium, that is supposedly a sign of great joy in a moment of great triumph.

Out of respect to the paysite, can you link the article?

It's hard to blame a kid for picking Stanford (assuming that will be Josh's choice), even over a great school like Michigan. I love Michigan, am an alumnus (2000), but can't blame someone for picking Stanford, even if their mascot is.....
December 16th, 2011 at 11:44 AM ^
can take it. Everything I read posted with that avatar is automatically in R. Lee Ermy's voice. And yelled right into my face.

So happy that Puyallup is still in my Michigan vocabulary.
December 16th, 2011 at 3:56 PM ^
I said this in the other post but maybe wasn't seen by most.
I read not too long ago that Garnett ELIMINATED Stanford, and that he is likely coming to us.

Maybe one day Ace will own many leather-bound books and his apartment will smell of rich mahogany...
