I think this is exactly why the staff has this policy. You can take visits, and then commit, but you shouldn't be able to commit, then take visits. It's not fair to the coaches who have to tell other players that the last spot has been filled, and then have the spot reopen.
The defense was solid, and I'm definitely impressed with Taylor at CB. He's stepped up big time.
I was also impressed with Borges's play calling to start the game. A good mix of screens and misdirection opened up holes for Denard in the middle, and really got us off to a good start.
Hopefully we can build off this against Illinois and get ready to take down sparty!
I respectfully disagree. Michigan is a national brand that can recruit kids from across the country. It may sound harsh, but the coaches don't want to be jerked around by a recruit who's only trying to save himself a spot in case plan's A, B, etc. fall through (Not saying this is what Conley is doing, but there are recruits like this).
If a recruit wants to take a visit or two, that's fine, but they need to know that their spot might not be available the next time they call. Conley obviously knows our recruiting situation, and if someone like McQuay or Treadwell fills his spot, that's that.
We had 25 commits last year, and have one of the biggest classes so far this year as well. It doesn't seem unrealistic to me is 48 players in the past 2 years have committed knowing the coaching staff's stance on visits.
Thanks for the analysis ehatch. Chris is one of my favorite pickups of this class. He has a mean streak and is quick and strong. YMRMFSPA: Jake Long(!!!). He only started playing O-line his Junior year, so hopefully he can redshirt and get a few years in the system before being pushed into action.
I wouldn't worry about Shane's numbers. Quality over quanity. Just because he doesn't throw the ball 40 times in a game doesn't mean we should go recruit a new QB.

Here is the interview Ace did with him back in January:

He obviously hasn't shown much interest since then, but a visit would be huge.

Even better if you picked up Dolphins D like I did. Basically anyone against the Jets = profit.

Unless Illinois has been hiding a 500-foot-tall robot in their roster, I think we win.

ULM beats Arkansas. Auburn beats ULM. Arkansas beats Auburn?
I just don't get it.

He's already committed.
With Notre Dame out, who says we can't start a series with Slippery Rock?
Michigan hasn't offered and there's still two years until he hits a college campus. I wouldn't worry too much even if he stays a solid sparty commit.
Agreed. Their O-line is vastly undersized, and any substantial success on the ground is an indicatior that our D-line is weaker than we thought.

The best kind of correct!
