Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

The big difference is that MSU has nobody like Denard who can just take over the game. For as good as Cousins is as a pocket passer, he needs a good line to protect him. MSU's looks to be average at best, and so Cousins is going to be harassed all game.
Also, UM got really lucky last week that ND didn't find a way to convert a couple of their chances. They are playing much better this week, and it shows.

62 Yard TD pass for N'Western: They just tied Army at 14.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:29 PM ^
Why does ND shut down their offense as soon as the 4th quarter starts?
September 17th, 2011 at 6:30 PM ^
Wow. One helluva bounce on the ND punt.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:38 PM ^
TD Army. They now lead NW 21-14. Under 3 mins left in that one.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:38 PM ^
TD Army with 2:49 left.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:39 PM ^
Holy penalties, Batman!

There are no words. These turnovers are hilarious.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
I was halfway into writing about the decision to punt with under 5 left, but ND went and did that.
Kelly is turning pink.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
Can someone please photoshop kelly's face as a rainbow? in all his colors? Please?
September 17th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
MSU punts?! ND muffs it?! Does neither team want to win?
September 17th, 2011 at 6:43 PM ^
Sparty NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
September 17th, 2011 at 6:45 PM ^
What was Cousins looking at? Even if the receiver ran the route well there are 2 ND defenders right infront of that slant.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Oh. My. Goodness.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Cousins picked, preserves ND victory
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
There. I think Notre Dame has it in hand now.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Hang on, ND might find a way to fumble while taking a knee.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:47 PM ^
Good point. I knew better as I was hitting "save".
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
This is some bad football in ND.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:45 PM ^
beaten... Tears of Infinite Sadness anyone?
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
The big TO finally goes to ND
September 17th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Who else was yelling, "DON'T FUMBLE" on the interception? Geeze, Louise.

September 17th, 2011 at 6:45 PM ^
This is great. Screw MSU.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:45 PM ^
Army is in victory formation. 21-14.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:46 PM ^
Sparty No!! Riots imminent for EL. Hide ya couches ya'll!
September 17th, 2011 at 6:46 PM ^
MSU's only TD was when a ND defender completely fell down.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:49 PM ^
That was some poetic justice.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:50 PM ^
Notre Dame starts a cupcake run now. Expect the media to be kissing their asses until November.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
Yep. And this is why I was pulling for MSU. Expect them to be ranked again after next week.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:50 PM ^
That kick was textbook perfect. I mean, that hit the seam in the middle of the net behind the goalposts.
September 17th, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
seems my phone re-posts every time I refresh the page
September 17th, 2011 at 6:52 PM ^
is on pace for 52 turnovers for the year (assuming no more in the Michigan State game and no bowl). The record is 61 (USA Today College Football Encyclopedia). It's within reach!
September 17th, 2011 at 6:55 PM ^
BTW, Can someone tell me WTF Tony Banks (I think it's him on BTN) is wearing? What the heck is that?
September 17th, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
I dunno. He looks like he belongs on Let's Make A Deal, straight out of 1973.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:03 PM ^
I do believe that's velvet and props to him for attempting to pull that off. Costanza would be proud.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:02 PM ^
Notre Dame says "please Dantonio, take this game! WE DONT WANT IT!!" Michigan State says "Oh, please sir, I disagree, please, take this game right back!"
In other news, SDSU is losing to Washington State 10-7.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:04 PM ^
Kirk Cousins is kind of overrated. And Sparty's LT sucks. Hopefully Roh or Black can exploit the hell out of him.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:25 PM ^
I disagree. He's not a game changer, but he's probably the most steadily solid QB in B1G right now. The key for ND is that they absolutely stuffed the run. MSU isn't going to win throwing the ball like 40 times a game.
September 17th, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
I feel good for user Irish. Congrats to him. If it had to be my team that put his team on track, I can feel good about that.
ND was clearly more talented than an overrated MSU team; ND deserved to win, and even overcame their signature mistakes, which was probably most impressive. I don't think 9-3 is unrealistic for this ND team.
Have to question Dantonio's judgment with the fake field goal (???!!!) and the decision to punt with 4 min left (he could not have planned for ND to drop the ball). Coaching left a lot to be desired today. The only part that I really liked was his reaction to the failed fake field goal (a gentle, "it's alright" [to be contrasted with Kelly . . .]).
Good news is that perception of this MSU team will come into alignment with their true abilities.

Nebraska with a pick to put that on on ice.
51-38 final, it looks like.
