A New Michigan Difference ad debuts, and it's dusty in here
I have seen the old ads dozens of times but they never get old. When I hear that distinctive music I stop whatever I am doing and watch.
This weekend, they are debuting a new one that focuses on Mott.
Story here, with link to the ad. I'm a big softie (and a parent to boot) so maybe it's just me, but I confess that I had to grope for a scrap of kleenex as the thing went on.

If you don't get emotional over sick kids, you have no heart. At the same time, medicine is a business and very competitive.

wait wtf are you saying?

But it got dusty yesterday: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/michigan-difference-new-ads

Damnit! I only searched two pages, not accounting for the high per-game thread volume.
I'm used to looking like an idiot on MGoBoard, but I try not to start the threads myself. Well, mods should certainly feel free to delete.

I feel like this is one of those things where it's ok to double-post.
But shame on you for not being active on the board EVERY day! If you would have been on here yesterday, you would have seen the other thread and avoided embarrassment. Let's improve on this, mmkay?

I didn't see it, so thanks for the double post! Mott is definately a great place, and that is a great ad.

double posts for this are fine by me. Just like last year posts about Brock.

That was rough...is somebody cutting onions up in here?

I have the michigan difference version of the victors as my ringtone. Everytime I get a phone call I am reminded about how proud I am of Michigan.

what instrument are they playing in that version? Heart strings??
September 2nd, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
where did you get it or can you send it to me??

If this ad doesn't get you a bit misty-eyed, you may be lacking a heart.
Great ad. Of all of the things that I am proud of relating to Michigan - and there are many, from academics, to sports, to charity, to prestige, to the whole Michigan Man thing - our amazing dedication to Mott is perhaps the thing that makes me most proud.

he is doing well thanks to his doctors and the great hospital
but to spend any time on one of those hospital floors...its tough
the video brings the entire experience full circle...glad to see the kids are doing normal kid stuff

How the heck am I supposed to watch Michigan football with watery eyes? There's no way I can go to the alumni bars now.

Best ad I've ever seen, they do an amazing job. So proud to be a Wolverine.

"holy shit" list. Tearing up at work, always helpful for a productive day. I appreciate the double post, as I didn't see the original thread either. So thanks, OP

For the past four years i've had the privelege of working with the physicians, nurses, and patients at Mott Hospital and can tell you that the work they do for some of these kids is not just medicine but art, and nothing short of a miracle. They do what they do because they can, simple as that. These individuals are the backbone of this university and I cant think of a more deserving group to represent us. Go Blue.

When the kid walking on the treadmill gives an enthusiastic thumbs up, someone broke into my office and started cutting up giant, genetically engineered onions. Those jerks.

THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME. TEAR-JERKER ALL THE WAY!!!
That is all. Carry on.

Great commercial but how am I supposed to watch the game with all this dust in my eyes?

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

I am pulling this Ad out on my phone and tell them to eff of and come back when their agricultural school can do something so wonderful.
Go Blue, Go Mott!

You know, the one on things I'm proud of? I'd like to change my answer please.
I agree with the previous sentiment about the kid on the treadmill and the second his thumb goes up...ugh...blubbering mess.
