Pick six to end the series. I think Notre Dame just fired Brady Home.
|1 week 3 days ago||Great news||
Guys I have excellent news! Even with the embarrassing display Michigan is currently putting on, it's extremely likely that 90% of the big ten is EVEN WORSE than we are.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Depends||
The use of an indefinite article with regards to an abbreviation or an acronym is really dependent on the reader.
If you read that phonetically as "An linebacker" then you clearly prefer a over an. If you read as "An ell bee" then an is appropriate.
What it really comes down to is whether LB is meant to be read as "ell bee" or "linebacker". I'm not sure there's a definitive rule for that.
Happy grammar nazi-ing!

Crazy to read about this hear. Oddly enough I was childhood friends with Tim and the Shaw family. I went to the same Bible camp as him and his brothers for several years. I'm not exactly religious anymore but I wish only the best for him and his family.

Ace, we desperately need a single GIF with all the Andrew Dakich celebrations. This kid is pure gold.

While you are correct in that the regional coverage of the 2 companies doesnt overlap with regards to cable...that's not what this merger is about. This is 100% about internet and net neutrality.
The cable industry is coming off one of it's worst years in...god who knows how long. Every provider is losing subscribers by the hundreds of thousands as customers flock to Netflix/Hulu/Aereo. So while you may not like the merger and cable pricing...what if you just want to go to full time streaming? Great! Just sign up for our internet offerings - all with either built in broadband data caps or throttling to make those video streams ever so laggy! (I believe companies like Verizon and Comcast already do this) Allowing one super company to control what content we view as well as how we view it and the quality with which we view it at is just...I mean...lol.
Frustrating customers to the point of jumping ship won't matter to TWComcast, because they'll own the ocean too.

Maybe it's because I see a little of the Jeremy Gallon Cloak Device in him, I don't know. But as long as his hands are solid, I see him wreaking havoc in the backfied. It certainly doesn't look like he'll have an issue getting open.
|34 weeks 4 days ago||Way to scrub the stats||
You're manipulating that data. Hoke is 4-5 against our rivals, this is true.
A much more accurate statement is: Hoke is 0-4 against our rivals on the road. This statement is more relevant since all of our rivalry games are on the road next year.
|35 weeks 6 days ago||Why does it not make sense?||
I don't see why people think it doesn't make sense. All asshattery aside, Kiffin's prowess as an OC has never been a debate. He's a very good to great OC. Additionally, Saban is a perfectionist. Losing 2 games, 1 of which was to Auburn (albeit on one of the craziest plays in CFB history) is unacceptable. To us, this is overreacting. To him, this is being proactive and staying ahead of the curve in the SEC, which is necessary for survival.
Ultimately, I think that BOTH UofM and Bama benefit from these moves, and I can live with that.
|35 weeks 6 days ago||Pos'd you||
Pos'd you because of justice.
You're just asking the questions that have to be asked, which was my first reaction. Clearly he has a good track record of improving offenses, and can coach at the highest level as he won an NC.
But something is up. It makes no sense for a guy running the O at Alabama, who historically is on our level but recently is certainly ahead of us, to jump to OC at a program who isn't as successful. Especially when he's been mentioned as a HC candidate at BCS level programs.
This could be as simple as Saban legitimately wanting the change to Kiffin and Nuss catching a bad break, in fact, I think it's just that. Hopefully we get our answer soon. Either way, Nuss is a significant upgrade to Borges and I think our offense will be better next year as a result. Hurray.
|36 weeks 7 hours ago||Good game, but gets old quick....||
It's good, but it got old kind of quick. And by quick, I mean 120+ hours. I pos'd someone in this thread because they hit the nail on the head by saying games have gotten just too easy. While there definitely is a LOT to do in Skyrim, I wouldn't say that any of it is particularly hard. Still a good game tho, worth $60 (thats what I paid on PS3 a couple years ago, no clue what it costs now on console/steam).
|36 weeks 1 day ago||Battlefield/COD||
Battlefield 4 is pretty good, at least the campaign. Will be beating it this weekend. I am a long time COD player and can say that COD Ghosts is absolutely awful. I already plan on trading it in at Gamestop this weekend. Gonna get the trophies and be done with it.
For those nerds out there that appreciate a real time sink, Final Fantasy 14 (online MMO) for PS3 is absolutely outstanding. You could play that game for 24 hours straight and not even make a dent in the content. They also keep adding more content and dont charge $10 for them. But most people aren't RPG players and that's fine.
Really looking forward to the new slate of PS4 games coming in the next 2 months.
|39 weeks 1 day ago||This ^||
Exactly. This game doesn't stick out to me because it was our first loss (I had forgotten that it was until he said that). I had already come to terms with the fact that we simply weren't very good and we'd ultimately get exposed. To lose the way we did, and to have that misery dragged out over the course of the overtimes was what did it. It's like being sentenced to death, but instead of being hung, they bury you alive. Slow, lonely, and miserable.
|39 weeks 1 day ago||Penn State||
Am I the only one that gives the Penn State loss a LOT more points than that? I was miserable that game. MISERABLE. I spent the next 3-4 days with a rain cloud above my head. I read every miserable article about every miserable play and playcall and couldn't bring myelf out of the tailspin. True Misery. It was my first time ever having to sit down and tell myself that I had gotten too close to sports and needed to take a step back.

The is not the best outcome becuase, ultimately, Dantonio's exit from EL leaves Narduzzi as the obvious replacement.
Best Case Scenario:
Saban heads to Texas, takes Professor Needs A Raise from Bama with him to Texas. Da'Shawn Hand repents his sins, commites to Michigan. Narduzzi hired at Bama, gets out of our hair. Dantonio retires to fulfill lifelong dream of being a door to door vacuum salesman (what, with his charm and all). Urban drowns his sorrows for losing B10 championship game to a vacuum salesman by aggresively pursuing various tail in Columbus. Gets caught, takes a break for the sake of his family.
BEST. CASE. SCENARIO.

Mentioning a bubble screen and having the question seemingly ignored is not a problem of Heiko's, it's a problem of Al's. Heiko really shouldn't have to pussyfoot questions when he's talking to our 50+ year old Offensive Coordinator. If Heko suggest a play that would have been more successful against that defensive look (bubble screen or otherwise), Borges should address whether Heiko's suggestion is good or bad and then describe why. Shutting down because you heard the words 'bubble screen' is a character trait of a 7 year old, not a grown damn man.
|48 weeks 9 hours ago||THIS||
This is what I was looking for. People have commented and the kind of conversations they believe are happening behind closed doors between Hoke and Borgers. While I agree that they are usually on the same wavelength with this stuff, Hoke has to know something is fundamentally wrong with playcalling.
You don't record the worst running performance in the history of the program without several mistakes being made - on and off the field. Period.
There are problems with the O-line, we get it. Everyone gets it. There are also problems with playcalling. We get it. Hopefully Hoke does, because we know Al doesn't.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||The dossier||
I have a problem with the dossier that Brian lists. While I agree that, at that moment in time, option 3 was the best option, it should have never existed. This list does not sufficiently bludgeon the point that our first 2 downs were completely burned (yes I know there are multiple references to down on fire throughout). Had we been playing for option 1 (end the game) the whole time, we likely arent looking at the long FG and have no reason to punt. Instead our options are 1. We've already ended the game b/c we got a 1st down, 2.Shorter, greater than 50/50 chance FG, 3. LOLPUNT? Why would we do that?!
Other than that, great write up. I hate everything.

I've watched every episode of this show at least 3 times. And yes, this is against OT policies but I +1'd it anyway. The show is THAT good.
|51 weeks 5 hours ago||Sad, really||
What's sad is that WLA used to be funn. Like, REALLY REALLY funny. To the point where a couple years back i was checking WLA every day for new content. They then slowly became douchey. It sucks man. Do they have an archive? Some of their old RR/Tate/Denard posts would keep me lolling for hours.

Can't see 'Commish' anymore without immediately thinking of Jabrill Peppers

I feel like. The Wire, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and maybe Homeland (if it maintains is current level) are in a league of their own.

It's so sad that people can't even make a joke about a freaking faith healer without getting some heat. Are scientologists off limits too now? Can I not say the word 'retarded'? Should women be able to vote? 'MERICUHHHH!!!!

Not that they are really related, but if we can reel in Hand and McDowell the team we field in 2016 has the potential to be terrifying.

I typically prefer Android stuff, but I think the iPad is just easier to use. I just had my wife sell her Asus to a buy refurbished iPad and she loves it.
There will be a new nexus 10 in the coming months but my guess is you will be buying this soon and aren't looking to wait.

|1 year 11 weeks ago||Umm yeah...this is false||
Google is your friend. Google this topic and not only will you see that this very regulation is up for review/revoke this fall, but that most airlines now equip Captains and First Officer's with iPads (both cellular radio and wifi equipped) to use for their Flight Manuals.
If it's that dangerous, why give the pilots of the aircraft a tool that explicitly allows them to create said danger?
While it may be true that 200+ people with cellular radios can cause a small amount of radio interference, it doesnt answer the question of why all portable electronics need to be 'turned off and stowed away' during takeoff. Why would cellular OEM's produce phones with an Airplane Mode if it was just as dangerous in Airplane Mode than in Cellular Mode?
Common sense people. I never turn my cellphone off and when others ask me to, i ignore them or tell them to shut up.

Since when do teams trade coaches in the same manner as players? Are there previous examples of this?
|1 year 12 weeks ago||As a Glendale resident||
As a Glendale resident, I'm really hoping this doesn't happen. Obviously I'm a Detroit native so I love hockey more than the average Arizonan, but a hockey game is usually a cheap Friday night. Getting to see the Wings a couple times a year is icing on the cake
