TomVH: One Last Time
August 23rd, 2011 at 1:08 PM ^
Pity you couldn't enjoy one more winter in AZ. As someone who moved from the midwest to socal in the summer 2x, just to move back in December... it's all backward. At least you can enjoy some football in the Bighouse this fall.
Welcome to MI (A2?), congratulations and thanks for the tremendous job you did here at mgoblog.

You can now tell your bosses that you will have at least one person begrudgingly handing over their hard earned cash to ESPN just for you.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:12 AM ^
Thanks for a good run. Good luck at ESPN.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:12 AM ^

This post is not cryptic enough; I give it five FAKEs out of five. We're going to miss the quality of your work around here. Best of luck with your career.

As with everyone else, I've been a huge TomVH fan for as long as I've been visiting. He is the epitome of class and professionalism.
For months if not years I had a neat little picture in my mind of who TomVH was. I imagined a retired former Michigander who had relocated to a warmer climate. Perhaps a former player and/or coach with deep inside contacts in the M football program. Gray hair, maybe reading glasses.
Something like this:
Then, during one of the MGOMALWARE events, I googled TomVH Twitter.
And found this:
Thanks for everything, Tom!

Thanks Tom, I'm sure I speak for many by saying that it was always a thrill to see a "TomVH" thread. Primarily because we knew there would be factual, breaking news, and also because of your polite and concise presentation of that news.
All the best with your new position. Glad to hear your moving back to Michigan.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^

Everything has been much appreciated. Show the mothership how they need to do their job...

Welcome to Michigan. It will not get up to 105 degrees up here, but get ready to hear "It's not the heat it's the humidity" 3,000 times over the next few years...
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
My neighbors house is for sale if you are still looking (it actually is).
You will really like the neigbors! BIG MICHIGAN FANS!

Have you ever been to the Phoenix area in the summer? Try 115+
It sucks in the summer (sorry if that offends anyone but it's true.)
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:27 AM ^
It's well deserved. Good luck with your new venture.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:26 AM ^

Bells come first.
August 23rd, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
Been awhile since I worked a quaterdeck, plus it's not good to have your "potty mouth, knuckle dragging" GM working the 1MC.
August 23rd, 2011 at 1:45 PM ^
I've heard worse. At least you didn't accidentally give him the stinger.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
Congratulations on your position, Tom. Truly, you deserve it.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
I know there was a time zone difference but the 2:00 am updates were always kind of fun to see.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
You're very lucky that Brian did not retain me as legal counsel before you signed on with MGoBlog. I would have required you to sign an employment contract with a strict no-compete clause that prohibited you from handling Michigan recruiting for a competitor for X number of years. Consider yourself lucky.
In all seriousness, I wish you the best of luck in your move and your new job. It always takes some time to get used to a new position so give it some time. I would like to say that I'll follow you to ESPN but I cannot lie - I'm an MGoBlogger through and through and have to throw all of my support at Ace. But good luck nonetheless!
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
I had no idea that people followed recruiting so closely before I found this site and never realized how high my expectations for information would be until I started reading your posts. Thanks Tom.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
Thank you Tom forl the dedicatoion you've exhibited and all the great updates over the past months or years (I'm not sure how long you've been on board). I look forward to reading your stuff on ESPN. And don't change your alleginaces (keep it Moichigan heavy ;)).
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:38 AM ^
Best of luck for you at ESPN!
