We still had a great season

10-2, with losses to 2 NY6/CFP teams. Yes, the last loss was bad, but we still beat PSU/MSU/Wisconsin and also had a top5 defense otherwise. Today was a total anomaly.

But go ahead, keep being upset at the program and where things are at. Today was a bad day, but the sun will rise tomorrow.

Come on man. Our expectations can’t be great getting beat like That. Season is ok/failure. Reason? Look at the talent on this team. Look who they beat worth a lick? Reality is they had 2 tough games and 2-4 ok teams. Took care of business in those 4 ok games. Lost 2 that mattered, one by 30. I thought ok, ND was game 1, we needed to gel and get into form. Today shows us all we are not in the same talk as those elite programs.

I'm with this. This was a damn fun season. We're not Alabama or OSU and never will be. But this is a fun team and I personally had a blast watching this season. On to the next one. Go Blue

I don’t think we had a great season.  Expectations at Michigan are to win Championships.  We didnt. We also lost 2 of our 3 rivalry games. Maybe our season was better than expectations as many thought 9-3 and Vegas May have even had 8-4, but this is not a great season.

This season was better than most people said we would have 4-5 loses, I believe most “experts” said. We lost to teams that combined have 1 loss. The season was bookended by the defense being late to one game, and absent from the other game.

Are there changes that STILL need to be made to the coaching staff? Absolutely.

Does the offensive philosophy need an overhaul? Yes.

I doubt either will happen. It’s unfortunate because we have a really good squad assembled, and I’d hate to see their talent wasted because of stubbornness.

10-2, with one of the losses being one of the most embarrassing defeats Michigan's ever experienced, especially to our main rival.  It makes 10-2 feel like 2-10.  Embarrassing, shameful, uninspiring, disheartening.

At best, this is an ok season. The only thing anyone's going to remember is that we went into the OSU game talking all kinds of crap and with a chance to make the playoff, and then disintegrated in the most embarrassing possible manner. It was the kind of humiliation that sticks with a program for a long time, just like the App State game. This wasn't even a very good OSU team.

Yeah, we beat MSU and PSU and Wisconsin and the other assorted mediocrities on our schedule, but we went 0-2 against teams that posed an actual threat.

I don’t know about everybody else but I’m tired of this “the sun will rise tomorrow” “there’s next year” bullshit. I’m not used to this. This isn’t the  Michigan football I grew up loving in the late 80s and through the 90s where it seemed like the last game of the season was a given. I’m really in a loss for words. This game, this coaching, this execution today was beyond horrible and for the first time since Coach Harbaugh came back I’m now beginning to question the direction of this program. Maybe it’s the emotions talking. Maybe I’ll feel better on December 25th but maybe not because we won’t have a big ten championship or playing in the playoffs. As someone pointed out earlier this was supposed to be the second time we had a “better team” than osu and we still didn’t get it done. I frankly don’t care about wins against Michigan State, Wisconsin, or Penn State because they’re all mediocre teams this season if we’re being honest. This last game of the year ALWAYS matters and being from Columbus and living here I’m tired of waiting another 365 days and seeing the number of days Michigan last best osu on the dispatch website. I don’t know if it’s the culture or what but something has to change. There needs to be a sense of urgency. Yeah the recruits are coming in but beating osu and Big 10 championships are what matter. So forget the 10-2 was a great season fluff because guess what we still don’t have a big ten championship and that was the goal.

I'm and sick and tired of this shit! But before today I did say a NY6 bowl would be a good year. (Not great but Good). We are not there yet. I'm sick of the wait but what else can we do. They are a dirt bag program and it seems every year we have a good team we play them on the road.  Harbaugh will have a good team every year now no matter where we play. We are over the Hump, we just need to beat these guys. BPONE will always be there. Unfortunately as long as we live.

Sorry - not a great season by a mile.  No one is a bigger JH fan than me, but he needs to look in the mirror.  He needs to higher a dedicated OC and take a step back.  The game plan with the weapons at WR can be categorized as malpractice.

When you go around billing the season as the “Revenge Tour” and then, with everything on the line, get absolutely decimated by your biggest rival in what might the most embarrassing loss in the program’s history. That pretty much precludes any mention of the word “great” being used to describe the season.

Yep. Perspective. Nothing bad happened to anyone on this board today (except maybe the gamblers, but they deserve it). Some kids played a game with a crappy outcome. So it goes. It's sunny and 66 here and my dog still loves me. The world did not end.

so we're better than a middle-of-the-pack team but at least we're on top of the middle-of-the-pack. Need OL help and quickly. I think losses to Notre Dame and OSU mean it was a disappointing season.

Hey, I love the optimism, but I don't think you can call it a great season when you lose to 2/3 of your rivals, and in a way that sends both of them to the playoffs. 10 wins IS good. Great means going 2 of 3 in beating ND, OSU and winning the B1G. Even winning the B1G without beating those rivals. But not this.
