better get an attorney and have them claim the winnings so they can remain anonymous or else they're going to have lots more family and friends (and sadly, threats).

and the winners are not anonymous here.  They publish your name.  If I won on my own (if not part of a group buy in) I'd research changing my name before cashing in the ticket.

Yes, you'd have to move some place you are not known immediately.  You'll have neighbors and strangers showing up to trip on your sidewalk to sue you.

Whoa, the most important aspect of my life is not a website. Let that be known right off the bat. Despite what some people on here will say because they don't like someone on the internet that they don't even know.

I've got people that are close to me that I would take care of first.

$4K is a lot of money for a donation to a website that I like to read and post on.

I've given up on finding an attractive female Michigan fan that will tolerate me.

Every time I stumble across one, it doesn't go well. I'm convinced that there is no one else on this earth like me.

Better to just not have sports dictate your dating life and try to dial it back a bit until later on once you do find someone nice. Ease them into it.

The positive from having a mountain of failures is being able to learn from them and tweak things along the way.

Put $2 each in.  I did the ticket purchase run today.  We photocopied the tickets and gave each participant a copy.

It's entertainment.

I'll form a gofundme where you all can chip in for me to buy a pool of tickets and split the jackpot if we win.  When we don't win, I will have already spent all of your money on hookers and blow.

But it's entirely rational to spend $16 on humblebrag microbrews from small towns in Vermont and oceanside brewpubs in Oregon.

Got it.

you know, the really sad part of all of this is that some dude - probably down south - is blowing his whole pay check - rent, water, and gas included, on a bunch of tickets for this stupid thing which he will never win.

That's the sad part.

That being said, I gotta run to the gas station.....
