The two new 4 starts are an excellent start. My response was to the ”offers” indicating the staff was doing something exceptional.
My only point was that M has always OFFERED a ton of elite prospects.

The key will be how many we reel in. And yes, the two most recent verbal commits are a great start!

For the record, I’m 100% behind JH and have been laughing at all of the whining about how long it took to get his staff retooled. Looking like it worked out pretty well, eh. Including Benny.

The staff is doing something exceptional, and the offers are just PART of it. These young coaches are showing an energy and drive that our staff wasn’t showing previously. Mo Linguist is doing WORK right now. Not just because he’s throwing out offers, but because he’s actually getting results. And he’s only been here a short time.

I think these guys are good recruiters, but we're a year away from National Signing Day. A lot can happen between now and then.

Recruiting from SEC country has generally not gone well for Michigan over the past several years (Otis Reese, Kingston Davis, Aubrey Solomon, Keith Washington, Eric Gray, Christian Turner, Jeremiah Holloman, J'Marick Woods, etc.) except for a few successes in Florida (Devin Bush, Josh Uche, etc.).

It's a simple function....

Expectations vs. Performance.

Michigan, Texas, Tennessee are exhaustingly negative fanbases right now because they are blue blood programs with entitled fans with delusional expectations based on past performance.

Tennessee, however, has basically accepted their place as an also-ran (with Georgia, LSU, and Florida above them for runner up to Bama), whereas UM and UT still believe in catching the college football elites, which include their respective main rivals, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Once we accept that our performance is basically Iowa, but with a bigger stadium, cooler tradition, and better history - the misery index will start to fall.

JD might not get re signed in Dallas but it's not going to be because they don't love how hard he plays and what he gets out of his size. I'm sure Coach Mo having been coaching him feeds into his authenticity telling kids he can coach them through Michigan on their way to an NFL roster.

Thanks for the info Jonny, the OP should always add this info in the body of the post.

Devante Smith would like a word with those who might complain about the size of a receiver,  Tyreke Hill as well, if the guy can run fast, catch and run good routes and has good hands, IDGAF how big or small a guy is.

Sam Webb and Brice March both listed him as a 2022 recruitment to watch on their podcast  (with Steve Lorenz) this week.  --

This was more of a "lets see how hard they go after a top target with the new staff" - since the word is that the old D staff would offer the top guys but tended to bail pretty quickly unless they got clear reciprocal interest early on.

I do believe Sam said this kid has some family in MI but made it sound like that would only get M's foot in the door and then they would have to duke it out with the 'Bama, OSU, UGAs of the world.

Tennessee high school football is terrible which is weird for such a big state. I watched the state championship this year against our incoming LB’s Colson team and they got whipped by a team that looked like a JV team. Memphis and UT do the bulk of their recruiting elsewhere.
