Thursday Night NFL Opener - Lions v. KC

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on September 7th, 2023 at 7:23 PM

Mates,
NFL starts tonight and the Lions are in KC to start the season against the Chiefs.  I think the point spread is 4.5 pts, and I'm told the Chiefs are going to be without their all-everything TE, Kelce.

I can't tell you much about either roster other than of course Hutchinson playing for our hometown Lions.

I think the Lions will have a respectable season but tough, tough way to open the season on the road vs. the defending Super Bowl champs.

Who is going to win tonight?

And for the Fantasy Football folks, do you have anyone playing tonight?

Go Lions, March on down that Field!

I just wish the Chiefs had some fan support! That and maybe shade a tackle 2 yards back to negate the pass rush and you might have an advantage.

Nice to see Danna and Hutch catching up.

I'd say Brad Holmes can be trusted with a draft.

Not gonna lie. I fully expected to be chuckling at the end, watching the Same Old Lions piss another game away, and there were at least 5 times it could have/should have happened. But I guess to even be in the position on the road in KC means a lot.

Can’t believe it but I’m ready to hit the Honolulu blue kool aid.

Sometimes its simply better to be lucky than good. Yes, if KC's receivers caught any one of those balls at the end of the game this may be a different story, but even the great teams get lucky sometimes, and sometimes luck plays a huge part in them winning a title.

Honestly, the Lions have been so unlucky for so long, they're beyond due to have at least a smidge of luck come their way.

Take the wins how you can get them and move on.

Great lions victory! Love that NBC showed all those lion fans who attended the game. I will be surprised if the NFL doesn’t call that crew in and explain to them false starts, motion, and holding.

We have a 7:40 tee time this morning...I am old and I could not stay up to see this game to the end. It was tied at 14 last I saw. The defense was playing very well and was keeping them in the game. But I was surprised to see the score this morning. One thing that the Lions certainly have in their favor-Aidan is a strong-willed winner. He played a huge roll in flipping the narrative at Michigan and maybe he will in Detroit as well.

Out here in South Central Kansas my HS freshman grandson is likely the only Lions fan in his school-he will have a fun day today.

Rexrode the Sparty is now on Nashville radio and just ripped the Lions as sucking in his rant. You can take the tool out of East Lansing...

He insists the Lions will be under .500 this year. But he thinks the Titans are winning their division.

Didn't get to watch it live, but really exciting that they won nonetheless. After catching up today, this team looks like it has the grit they've been striving for. Obviously it's just one game and it will be critical that the guys keep a level head amongst the hype, but I am excited to see what comes next!

I have Mahomes, Lions D, Laporte, and J.Williams (sspd) on my roster. I was glad to get respectable points out of Mahomes without him crushing my hopes and dreams for the Lions! Just a great game. I may watch it again when I get home from work.
