LOL.
It was 7-0. I went to take a shower. Not even before I dried myself off, it was 13-7.
Insert Step Brothers, "What the fuck happened?" gif.
If you aren't rooting for a loss, you aren't a true fan. This thing needs to end.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
Agreed. For the first time in my 42 years of fandom, I want them to lose on Thanksgiving, just to end this pitiful era.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:43 PM ^
Matt Dery's pod the other day, he wants to see Louis Riddick and Salah as GM and coach. Wouldn't mind that. Riddick seems to be a pretty sharp dude.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:53 PM ^
As a Niners fanatic and UM alum, I’d love to see Salah get a look at the UM gig (if Harbaugh departs for greener pastures)...it’s a forgone conclusion Salah will be coaching somewhere next year, and I’d love to see him in A2! I’ve had the fortune of meeting him on several occasions, and he’s a truly incredible guy.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:57 PM ^
He's not going to college. He'll be an NFL coach soon.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:45 PM ^
I definitely think you’re right...just dreaming a little dream ;-)
November 26th, 2020 at 3:18 PM ^
Harbaugh depart for greener pastures?? Who will pay them more then U-M?
November 26th, 2020 at 4:21 PM ^
This pitiful era will only end when the fords sell the franchise.
However, we know they never will, so we got that going for us, which is nice!
November 26th, 2020 at 4:06 PM ^
And for the 63rd year in a row the Detroit Lions have let their fans down.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:21 PM ^
Lol a third turnover... This has to end
November 26th, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
Cmon deshaun get me some fantasy points and get Matty P fired!
November 26th, 2020 at 1:25 PM ^
This start calls for the hard stuff.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:35 PM ^
Gin and tonic until my wife gives me “the look” for my words choosing to come out messy. At this rate, it might not make it until dinner.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:08 PM ^
Jack and diet Pepsi over here, wondering where all the appetizers are.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:10 PM ^
Check around the house. Including the walls and floorboards.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/25/us/whiskey-bottles-found-new-york-home-walls-trnd/index.html
In early October, Nick Drummond and Patrick Bakker said they found more than 66 bottles of whiskey from the Prohibition-era hidden within the walls and floorboards of their home, which was built in 1915. "Our walls are filled with bundles of booze!" Drummond, who documented the unexpected find in a series of posts on social media, wrote on his Instagram. "I can't believe the rumors are true! He was actually a bootlegger! "
November 26th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
Four total turnovers from both teams in 9 snaps. This is some bad football.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
These teas been eating some turkey. Greasy fingers!
November 26th, 2020 at 1:37 PM ^
I get you meant teams but teas should be used for poorly constructed weak ass things.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:45 PM ^
I came back from a quick errand just to see the Texans go ahead for the moment.
At the current pace, the Lions may lose a winnable game and cast a slight pall on the holiday yet again.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:49 PM ^
Losing this game would make this Thanksgiving perfect.
Winning will do nothing but risk keeping Patricia and Quinn around and cost them additional draft position in a year where they clearly cannot make the playoffs.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:46 PM ^
Lions suck as usual. No Thanksgiving HS football in MA. Time to watch the Friends Thanksgiving episodes marathon on TBS.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:50 PM ^
The Lions look like their same old trashy selves. Just an awful team! Ford family, please sell your team. You are just the worse NFL team owners.
November 26th, 2020 at 1:53 PM ^
I get the Ford thing, I totally do.
But at the end of the day, it's on the GM and the coach to produce a winner. I hope they recognize this soon and try again with a new duo.
They'll never sell. All we can hope is that they finally do it right and get the right management in here.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:04 PM ^
There's just been too much loyalty to losers. The Ford's stuck with Thomas and Millen way too long. Schmidt was probably the best of the lot. I actually miss the Wayne Fontes era, even during his bad seasons, he still was close to .500 and at least in the wild card race.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:13 PM ^
I don't argue there. They are very loyal.
But they have also showed they are willing to move on from coaches pretty quick. I think the average coach for the Lions after Fontes has been like 3-4 years.
There's no point complaining about the Fords; they aren't selling.
All we can hope for is that they land a super smart football mind that is not enamored with replicating the Patriots.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:51 PM ^
Jerry Vainisi was around when the Lions built the team that was somewhat successful in the early '90s. He lost out to bean-counter Chuck Schmidt and everything went to hell.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:05 PM ^
I don’t get the Ford thing. They pay up for our good players, they give coaches a chance, they stay in the background - they don’t run amok like Dan Snyder. As far as I can tell they’re just not good at talent evaluation- but they don’t seem to hamstring their staff like other owners.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:13 PM ^
They're owners who don't really care about winning. They're satisfied with mediocracy and the fans usually show up for games plus their television contracts. The Ford's are all multi millionaires and don't seem to care about the game of football.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:14 PM ^
That's not their fault; that's on the fans.
November 26th, 2020 at 4:26 PM ^
Lie-downs owners' box, LOL....
November 26th, 2020 at 2:14 PM ^
They've always had the football guys report to the bean counters (Schmidt, Wood), and the one time they deviated from that formula, they hired Matt freaking Millen.
The Ford family is THE problem with the franchise. Full stop.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:16 PM ^
No one is arguing their some of the worst owners in all of sports; I totally get it.
But letting the coaches and GMs off the hook is also no good. It's the franchise as a whole- it's just a wretched operation from the top to the bottom.
November 26th, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
The city of Detroit is the problem too. Players have said they don’t want to play in Detroit.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:09 PM ^
At this point I’m rooting for Duke Johnson and Watson to score a lot of TDs so I can remain in first place in fantasy. So far it’s going well.
Before today, I Probably watched about 20 snaps total of Lions football this year. I can now confirm they are hot garbage as per the usual. Why is it so brutal being born and raised a sports fan in the state of Michigan? Sheesh!
November 26th, 2020 at 2:31 PM ^
Remind me again, why is Kerryon Johnson starting over Adrian Peterson?
November 26th, 2020 at 3:09 PM ^
He's not. They usually split carries evenly when Swift is out, but Peterson is technically the starter and always the early down back.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:41 PM ^
Why can’t the Lions just finally tank instead of being a 4-12 - 7-9 franchise.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:46 PM ^
You're assuming they would have better judgment with the #1 or #2 draft pick than what they've demonstrated with the #6 or #7.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:41 PM ^
This game is trash.
November 26th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
TURDUCKEN!
November 26th, 2020 at 2:44 PM ^
And the Lions run an imaginative play only to get rooked out of a TD by a questionable interpretation of the rules for completing the pass, AGAIN!
November 26th, 2020 at 2:56 PM ^
Lol, there is no interpretation of that rules where that was a catch. He had the ball, fell over, immediately dropped it. But that misses the PI that happened in the play with the DB arm clearly around Stafford's chest before the ball arrived
November 26th, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
You can tell this team has thrown in the towel. They all cannot wait to get home and eat turkey. Just the cancer that is the Lions.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:19 PM ^
Well just tuned in to see it’s 40-17.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:27 PM ^
It's too bad that the whole coaching staff knows where the body is buried ! They should ALL be replaced.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
Can they fire Quintricia while this embarrassment is still happening?
November 26th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
If I owned the Lions I would fire the coach after this one.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:27 PM ^
The Lions are like the Washington Generals of the NFL on Thanksgiving.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:28 PM ^
Go ahead and fire Patricia. It’s probably the right thing to do, but we all know the Lions are going to be right back in this situation 3-4 years from now with the next guy they bring in.
The Lions have cycled through countless players, coaches, scouts and GMs, wasted two of the best players to EVER play their respective positions, and they’ve always been awful. We all know who has been the lone constant in all of this, but unfortunately there is no way to get rid of them, and they’re showing no desire to ever sell.
Surrender to the void, Lions fans.
November 26th, 2020 at 3:28 PM ^
We should all be thankful to the Detroit Lions for helping us return to normal, by losing on Thanksgiving .
