Snowflake Thread: QB Redshirts

Let Speight mop up this year, RS next year, bust out year after?
RS Morris, allow him to compete with O'Korn next year with 2 years eligibility?

Interesting...

Living in Texas as you apparently do, I can see why you'd try to cover with the "Straight" in your user name there Dave... but here on Mgoblog you're free to be whoever you were born to be.

And if you wanna diss Michigan HS football, just stay the Hell in Texas!

Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, Tom Brady, Chad Henne, Mario Manninham, Steve Breaston, Taylor Lewan, Marlin Jackson, Mike Hart,... I could go on all DAY! Nuff Said?!

Oh, and Jake Long!!!

OMG - there WAS a time on this blog you didn't have to go "/s" EVERY time you employed satire, hyperbole or sarcasm!!!

WTF happened? The more popular the blog gets (Congrats on that Brian & Seth) the more LCD the discourse becomes.

The very idea that someone who regularly visits this blog and even occasionally posts would read a post by a like person and not KNOW that the entire list wasn't from Michigan intentionally and feel the need to inform them of that fact is F*g frightening!

Please take the razzing of "Straight Dave" for using "Straight" in his user name in the same spirit... methinks he doth attest too much!

Jeebus Lord, where did the people who "get it" go on this blog?!

Shane is already a junior and this was his opportunity.  I have a feeling that if he doesn't compete for the job this year that will seal his chance to ever be a starting QB here unless O'Korn is really not that good.  He has great physical tools, so I hope I'm wrong, but his lack of playing time tells me he isn't improving on his weaknesses.  Especially when you have a guy like Gentry who will probably RS this year and be a back up next.  You'd expect him to be the starting QB after that.  Then, you have a guy like Peters coming in who looks great, but would have the opportunity to RS if Gentry can be the guy.  There are only so many guys that can get snaps.

Who knows.  He could be in Harbaugh's doghouse.  Maybe Harbaugh wants to build Ruddock's confidence because right now he's the guy.  Maybe he tweaked an injury.  It could be any number of reasons, but just because he didn't come in during the one opportunity he could have doesn't support the idea that the contrary is true.

Is it my imagination or was Spielman trying to scare good receivers out of coming to Michigan?  He was way overdoing it on the conservative offense thing.

Personally I wish we'd burn Shane's redshirt so he's only taking up a scholly for 1 more year after this season instead of 2.

What makes you come to this conclusion? I have a different view. The put Speight in for two handoffs rather than risk a freak injury occurring to Shane. If Rudock goes down at any meaningful part in a game, Morris will be coming in. Not even a question.
