What the hell is wrong with you?

This weekend is depressing enough without having to relive that game.  Seeing it once was enough.

The only good thing about this game was that it got us the John Cooper era at OSU.

I was there.  Hung over as hell and sitting behind the goalposts on the Michigan side  about half way up.

We jumped out to an early lead then it seemed like Bo called 678 straight draw plays to Morris.

My first Rose Bowl

was there, too, sitting opposite of you.  not hung over.  i had an old dark blue suburban at the time that i used yellow poster paint to make the 'wing' design on the hood and the stripes going over the roof to the tailgate of the truck.  got up early and saw the rose parade. of course did not like the final score.

I distinctly remember PAC 12 football at night being on my local FOX channel.

God I miss college football.   It's crazy, but some random Arizona vs. Colorado game is my favorite thing to watch.

That game was intensely painful for me as a sophomore. Now that my kid is attending ASU in the fall, my feelings have been altered.

My how things can change in a period of only...33 years.

I was a kid traveling to the Grand Canyon, because we had family in town for the holidays. We stopped for gas and I ask the guy working how the game went. He tells me “just awful!” Has to be good news right? I’m talking to an AZ gas station clerk in AZ.  No such luck. He goes on to tell me he is from Michigan originally, and Bo just can’t buy it in the big game.

I was 8 and begged my Dad to wait until the game was over before we commenced a holiday drive from Detroit to St. Louis. (My parents had just gotten divorced so this was the first Christmas break I had to split between them.) He did, we spotted the Arch as dawn was breaking, and he never fails to remind me of that god-awful loss and trip even now, approaching 90.

Dads and Rose Bowls are the best.

I fondly remember the trick-play 2 point conversion.  But I also recall being surprised they didn't pull it out.  And with John Cooper as their coach no less....

I was there! I was 8, they were all out of Michigan plush footballs so my parents bought me an ASU one that clearly had had USC torn off and replaced. Played with that thing for years.

Only Rose Bowl I have attended, drove up from San Diego Submarine Base with a few shipmates, had a blast other than the outcome. Took 2 "rolls" of film....set the camera down at one point, never saw it again.

Wow

i remember watching it on television like everyone else

No stunk in bowl games

he never seemed to get blown out, but man that was embarrassing for all of us grads, watching the team find ways to lose

nothing worse than that first Washington Rose Bowl where UM was favored to win by about 821 points but found a way a way to blow that one straight out of their asses

by first Washington rose bowl I don’t mean that 1951 classic
