Ehh I disagree. Fiesta has the opportunity for LSU-Michigan, a matchup that has never happened, with two huge fanbases on Jan 1 rather than Dec 29. That seems like an easy decision with regards to ratings, attendance, intrigue, etc.

As for the Peach - they'd get way better attendance with UCF-UF. Atlanta is crawling with Florida fans, and obviously the fans of both teams who are located in Florida could get to the game relatively easily. They could sell state rivalry. It doesn't put UCF on Jan 1 to compete with bigger brand teams for ratings.

Idk I kind of think we'll be in the Fiesta against LSU.

Waiting on an "invitation" from assholes in obnoxious jackets that we can't really turn down to play in an exhibition game is so fucking depressing. Bowl games that mean nothing are so 1970. Expand the playoffs and make the games count or let these kids go back to campus and rest up for next season. The only reason anyone likes this is because they let you have 15 more practices.

If Oklahoma goes to the playoff the only options the committee has is coming up with 2 pairs out of: Michigan, UCF, Florida, and LSU. And Florida can't play LSU. Which means we can't play UCF. So Florida or LSU it is. If I was them id do Florida vs UCF. Have an instate battle.

Seems like the bowl selections and who has to play who due to old stupid rules is like Harbaugh’s offense. Old and outdated. Needs updated ASAP.

I don't see them matching us up with them again... Especially when UF - UCF is out there for the making.

We'll play LSU, just a question of whether in Atlanta or Glendale.

The only people who will watch this are those Florida and Michigan fans who aren't so disgruntled that they can stand to watch their teams one more time this season. The rest of the country doesn't give two shits about another UM-FL matchup.

Doesn't the bowl get a say?

Michigan - FL for the 3rd time in 4 years is not going to move the needle.  Attendance and ratings will suck.

If I'm the bowl, I'm going to try to horse-trade my way out of that.

UCF and FL would create much bigger buzz for a bowl.

The one problem that I have with your analysis is that in the era of playoffs, not many people outside of the fan bases of the teams playing give a shit about the bowls. The ratings generally suck unless there is a compelling story line. From a ratings standpoint, there won’t be any difference between us playing Florida, LSU, USF or Texas. Just a matchup of good but not great teams who didn’t make the playoffs in a bowl with zero implications.
