OT: Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill transferring

Submitted by MichiganStudent on
I think this was pretty unexpected but Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill is transferring.

I doubt this would have any affect on Michigan as he would need to sit out a year before being eligible.

it was a statement upon facts that had nothing to do with the post that you were responding to.  His statement wasn't about Michigan football in no way, shape or form.  I know what you were saying, but I'm saying our performance should have nothing to do with Kenny Hill at all.  Stay on topic.

The last thing Michigan needs is a "September Heisman" winner. I hated hearing that term and it pains me to even say it now... sorry. Who knows how good he really is and Michigan may need help at QB early on.. but I wouldn't risk it with this kid. That said, I think most of you are on the same page so plz don't take this as me lecturing you.

uh can't really have a Heisman winner without there first being talk of a September Heisman winner by the trolls.  I'll take that every year.

While you may be punch drunk from the past seven years my friend and I can't blame you it still remains true outside the black cloud now being lifted that being good in september does not preclude one from being great on the last Saturday in November.

I am not interested in Kenny Hill either. FWIW.

Don't know anything about his attitude but this "he sucked" after the initial glow stuff is silly.  A&M sucked because they play zero defense.

Kenny Hill as a first year starter had a 66.7% completion %, threw for 2700 yards, and average pass attempted was a high 8.25.  He threw 23 TD and had 8 INT.  Those 2700 yards were in 8 games, not 12.

He was on pace for 4000 yards, and 35 or so TD.  That's very damn good.

Obviously that first night he threw for 500 yards and something like 19 TDs set unrealistic expectations.

Anyhow Bagheera has him going to Oregon and Josh Rosen un-enrolling from UCLA to go to Texas A&M so it doesn't affect us.

The only people who even say September Heisman are MSU fans and I could care less what they think since they've never even gotten a December Heisman when we have 3 of those. As for Hill, he's not even that good of a qb and I don't want to deal with public incidents like he had at Texas A&M passing out in public.

If there's one thing that Sparty has proven over the years, it's that they are able to sustain "excellence" in insults that appeal to "lowest common denominator" fans a lot longer than they are able to sustain excellence on the football field.  For all of Sparty's bragging the last seven years, they haven't really accomplished nearly as much as you would think they have by listening to them.

I know they've won four bowl games in a row, but only by 9 total points and they lost the previous three straight. under Dantonio for a total of five straight bowl losses before they turned it around.  Yes, they got one undisputed Big Ten Championship and one shared BTC, but you'd think they deserved the last seven to hear them brag.

No matter what they accomplish, Sparty is always a split-second away from a "Sparty No" moment.  With a resurgent Michigan and PSU, their job recruiting has just become infinitely more difficult, making those "Sparty No" moments more likely in the near future.

They can use their phrases like "September Heisman" and "Walmart Wolverine" all they want, but that isn't going to make them close to evening up the all-time rivalry and it isn't going to make them able to sustain excellence or relevance.

That kid was ALL the talk after that first game against South Carolina. Kenny Trill, they said. And then....radio silence. As Coach Moeller used to say, "If anyone tries to tell you how good you are, turn around and punch them in the mouth. They're only trying to tear you down." Words to live by.
