OT: Moses Malone passes away
At age 60. One of the all-time greats and definitely owner of the best quote IMO when asked for his prediction for the 1983 NBA playoffs: "fo, fo, fo"
Three time MVP, one of 50 greatest players of all time, NBA Hall of Fame.
And he's gone. Too damn young.

I remember those Moses Malone, Dr. J Sixer teams. Malone was mean out there. You didn't go drive through the paint--that area belonged to him. And you did not mess with the Doctor. He was a great player with mad skills. R.I.P.

NBA took their first HS players the next year, including Darryl Dawkins. A strange coincidence, RIP to both.

Growing up in Philly, the '83 Sixers was one of the first sports teams I can remember.

I was at one of those fo, fo, fo playoff games in Philly. It wound up being fo, five, fo, for the championship, but he was close with his prediction. He was a beast. Dr. J or not, the 76ers don't win that championship without Moses Malone.

I think the story I read mentioned that he died in his sleep of a heart attack, but regardless, very sad news indeed, and as others have mentioned, not that far removed from the loss of another great - Darryl Dawkins.
It's very jarring in a way to see players from the generation of the NBA I grew up watching as a kid begin to pass on, and at rather young ages too.

That's way too young. R.I.P. Moses.

Wow this one was a surprise. Apparently they have not released cause of death but there were references that it was unexpected. Guessing heart attack or some sort of stroke...poor guy only 60 years old.
