OT: Copa America - Quarterfinal: USA vs. Ecuador, 9:30pm EDT, FS1
USA plays Ecuador tonight in Seattle for a spot in the semifinals. The winner will face the winner of the Argentina-Venezuela match on Saturday.
USA has found a central defense! Can we rack up some goals against the talented Ecuadorans? Who is starting at right back for the USA?

The USA-Ecuador winner does not face the winner of Peru-Colombia.
Will most likely face Argentina and Messi.
*shudder*
Wonder if Argentina would take us seriously and actually start Messi and Aguero up front.
*shudder*
The talent on Argentina is just absurd.

losing Wood is going to be a killer of any small hope we had. Held on though. Semis are nice.
it resets. But they received two before the reseet, which means a one game suspension is imposed immediately upon receiving the second. I think. Could be wrong.
He is suspended if the card stands. There is a hope the US could get it rescinded on appeal, because the card happened on an improper restart, as Jones hadn't yet left the field from being sent off. I think it depends on whether the card was given because a tactical foul or for unsporting behavior.
+1, prescient.
Thanks, M'Dog. Fixed my post. Clearly a case of me being scared of Argentina.

Ecuador's wingers are fast and talented. Going to see a lot of pressure coming from the edge, especially without Yedlin.
It say "Welome Home Dempsey". Excellent stuff
Ecuador's national anthem is bad
Jaunty national anthem by Ecuador.
Pretty baller that Seattle's skyline is visible out of the endzone
I wish we would pick a classic uni look and stick with it like all the big-name teams do - Brazil, Argentina, etc.
I don't like being the Indiana of international football.
Italy changes the design of their away kit and it looks fantastic. The US just needs to not suck at it.
Hope they liked not selling tickets then
Kinda surprised at the low turnout. Isn't Seattle usually a big soccer city? I though the Sounders like sold everything out all the time
As stated above, they have been charging pretty high prices for every match. And in alot of cases, they're forcing you to buy packages if there's multiple games in the city. Which makes no sense unless you've got the money to burn as you don't even know what the knockout matches will be when you buy the packages. And while this tournament is a big deal for soccer in this country, how many people are going to buy tickets to watch Peru take on Haiti? Or Jamaica-Venezuela, or Panama-Bolivia?
The Sounders "sell out" because they artificially limit the capacity for Sounders games to about 40,000 which is a lot less than the 69,000 capacity of the stadium. It's still a very high turnout for MLS (most teams don't play in NFL stadiums) and they've increased that capacity limit every year due to ever increasing demand.
They typically shut off the upper deck, but the crowds for Sounders games are fantastic and involved, so the overall effect is still pretty impressive in Seattle.
Let's go USA!
GO USA!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, not bad!
"Ball is wide" -- ball hasn't even been kicked by Zardes yet
happened the last game as well
We're sitting on six yellows...uggg
Besler was supposed to be there (a la Johnson would have been)...
the assist was solid but mostly set up by Wood and Jones was miserable the rest of the game.
Alexi Lalas heading that corner to McBride would've been a goal, dammit.
That was gorgeous
PRETTY.
Dempsey! 1-0 USA!
