MSU @ U-M Basketball Game Thread

Well here we go again, the boys take on another rival, let's see how they do tonight. Pretty much a must win, the fan apathy has been understandable, I want my BBall team to be really good, is that too much to ask for?

I like this team a lot better when Irvin's not missing 12 shots a game. He actually does some other things reasonably well, namely defense. Xavier Simpson looked like a totally different player tonight.

Must.  Continue.  The Effort and Intensity.

Every game, all game long.  A few losses are acceptable down the stretch, they for sure won't get them all.  But 4 more wins out of 7 puts us in an okay place and the road wins we'll need and wins against more quality teams (Wiscy, Purde, Indiana again, and yes Northwestern).

of players woke up and were more aggressive, while Derrick Walton continued his excellence.

Nice to blow Sparty out of the gym too.  Should be good for their confidence.

what a warrior, he continues the great play as of late. And I love how he's singing along with the fight song... a true Michigan man!

So happy for Coach B and the players for their victory tonight after taking so much heat, some of it deserved. I also liked what I saw out of X and Teske.. and MAAR had a few strong drives to the cup that were reminiscent of last year.

Keep it up! Go Blue!!!

There have been times that I've been down on Walton's effort, but he has really upped his intensity over the last several games. Now, if they could get that kind of consistent effort from the entire squad, they would be a tough team to beat.

They would be closer to the Tourney. At least after this game they have an outside chance but will have to win both home games, two on the road and may be one B1G tourney game.

Any night we beat those floor-slapping bums is a good night. The intensity tonight from Derrick Walton was something I've never seen before from him. He wanted this win bad and he deserved it.
