They'll be back for the second half of the Illinois game.

I assume the same so forget that shit program. What about the two guys attacked? Any updates on them? I noticed Green did not play much but didn’t see him injured. Was he heading back for treatment too versus celebrating with teammates?
Hoping Harbaugh updates them today.
October 31st, 2022 at 7:40 AM ^
I don't think Green was injured, but Will Johnson and Rod Moore took over covering Coleman in the 2nd half. Green was there with Coleman, but just couldn't keep him away from the ball. Both Johnson and Moore are bigger and more athletic than Gemon, so it made sense - and it worked.
October 31st, 2022 at 8:15 AM ^
Rod Moore is bigger than Gemon Green? I think not.

First and foremost, I would ask if anyone knows or has heard anything about the victim(s) of this horrible crime? My prayers to them and hope they recover stronger.
Second I have to say, It's difficult for me to wish the end of a person's career because of a moment of bad decision making. I do admit that, it is that bad and full extent of the law is reasonable under the circumstances, but I don't want to see a young man's life ruined, particularly if there are no serious injuries. We are a society that gives second chances and we have to afford room for that when young people are involved who haven't been taught better.
Third, we must look at what can be done to prevent this from happening again? I know this isn't going to sit well with a lot of people here, but this tunnel has been a growing problem since last year that I know of and perhaps even longer if we admit it. Yes, something needs to be done about the teams using the tunnel at the same time PERIOD. Gamesmanship and pissing contests have culminated into what we witnessed, because no one has acted upon the several warnings, that this would happen. Leaders must fix this NOW as I think they all share in the blame because they failed to lead beforehand.
Lastly, I want to give special douche bag awards to Mel Tucker for a lack of program control. His team is a reflection of his inability to convey what sportsmanship is all about. Great job Mel for teaching these boys to be men, Next time, take your ass whopping like men and go home. Can't forget about the administrative staffer's who did nothing, particularly the one who ran away from the assault and most of all the MSP Officer who stood there and watched should be fired for standing there without doing anything to assist the people who were being assaulted. They could have killed that young man. You were sworn to uphold the law and your actions were reprehensible and below the standard of what we should expect from law enforcement in Michigan. Turn in your badge.
There's plenty of blame to go around, but the adults here don't get to shake their heads in disgust, blame the kids and ruin the lives of more African American young men who used poor judgment when tensions were high and no leadership was present. Everybody failed these victims and there's plenty of blame to go around. Speedy recovery again to the player(s) who could have lost their lives.

One key name missing to no surprise Jayden Reed who is clearly in the video with McBurrows and one of the players pulling him into the corridor.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:38 PM ^
Reed was clearly a participant.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:45 PM ^
They’d be doing him a favor by suspending him.
October 30th, 2022 at 11:10 PM ^
Well he gets a pass because McBurrows was dressed provocatively
October 30th, 2022 at 11:51 PM ^
And…. MSU…… violates……… tunnel…… the shit writes itself. Send MSU to the MAC for. Generation. Mature like cheezit cheddar cheese. Come back better.

RedRum: As an avid MAC fan and my undergrad from that arena...we don't want them :)

I woke up feeling the cheesiest coach!!
October 31st, 2022 at 12:13 AM ^
But did our player answer the questions a couple of our posters needed answered?
October 31st, 2022 at 12:07 AM ^
Pathetic but they won't be making a bowl this year with or without their best player.
October 31st, 2022 at 1:09 AM ^
I worry that B1G won't do shit if MSU fails in their action. Hope UM will ensure that MSU or B1G take proper action. And of course the justice system does something about it.
October 31st, 2022 at 8:48 AM ^
Worry? Why worry? You know the B1G won't do shit.
October 31st, 2022 at 11:43 AM ^
This is now a national story. That puts the B1G under the microscope and they will need to rule on this assault matter properly. However, you may end up being correct.
October 31st, 2022 at 11:52 AM ^
And? Urban Meyer was a national story. COVID-19 was a national story.
The thing about impunity is, you don't have to care what people think. The B1G doesn't answer to the public, so I don't see how "it's a national story" gets their collars damp.
October 31st, 2022 at 9:54 AM ^
Ban the players involved from UM facilities. Ban them for life. If they show up for a future game arrest them for trespassing. Better yet, march in to Lansing next year and continue to expose Mel Tucker.
October 31st, 2022 at 10:04 AM ^
This is where the clear conflict of interest, with Commissioner Warren having his son play on the Michigan State team, matters.
Commissioner Warren: Do what is right. Including recognizing that the coaching staff at Michigan State do not set a good role model for your son and encourage his transfer to a non-Big Ten school.
October 31st, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
Yep, the ol' "punishment by depth chart" gimmick, which shows this is all a dog & pony show. That'll learn 'em.
October 31st, 2022 at 9:27 AM ^
Hopefully the police won't miss that "oversight" and drag his ass into court along with the rest of his dirtbag teammates.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:35 PM ^
These will be long term suspensions also, till the investigation uncovers even more. There could be legal action for at least one of them.
October 30th, 2022 at 11:06 PM ^
I hope the investigation takes the rest of the regular season. We know they won’t have to worry about bowl season.
October 31st, 2022 at 6:09 AM ^
It will. Honestly I think they just might do a reevaluation of there entire football program. They bit way too fast on Tucker with not nearly enough evidence to support such a commitment. The season is essentially over for State. Reed isn’t suspended but I’m guessing we won’t see much of him after this. He will be a pro and the wise move for him is to get as far away from that tire fire as fast as he can.
October 31st, 2022 at 6:34 AM ^
will an NFL team want someone as mentally undisciplined as that?
That should be his major worry right now.
October 31st, 2022 at 6:51 AM ^
Especially since that video will follow him for a long time.
October 31st, 2022 at 7:26 AM ^
If Deshan Watson has a job...
October 31st, 2022 at 9:28 AM ^
Exactly. You can run a dog fighting ring and the NFL will find a way to give you a second $100 million contract.
I'm sure the Sparty in question will do some public service, be all contrite, and get drafted.
October 31st, 2022 at 8:11 AM ^
The NFL is full of mentally undisciplined people...so yes I believe he will find a spot there.
October 31st, 2022 at 11:45 AM ^
Good point!
October 31st, 2022 at 7:43 AM ^
"He will be a pro..."
Will he, though? Both Turner and Green shut him down cold. He wasn't even a factor when MSU needed anything they could get. Didn't even look at him.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:37 PM ^
Seems like there were more than 4. The big ten may add to this list.
October 30th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
Hopefully there will be more names on the court docket.
October 31st, 2022 at 6:28 AM ^
it'll be just like old times in EL...
October 31st, 2022 at 8:46 AM ^
Those littering charges are piling up quickly.
October 31st, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
They simply put those on the Group W bench
October 31st, 2022 at 12:41 AM ^
That is my take as well. Are any of these players the ones involved in the assault on Gemon Green?
That statement sounds like MSU's program is not going to suspend anyone else unless any other video drops that makes them look bad despite there being a bunch of witnesses to the events on their staff.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:38 PM ^
Looking at the videos, Crump must be the helmet swinging asshole, because Brown, Young, and Grose were the ringleaders of the attack on McBurrows.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:45 PM ^
Correct.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:46 PM ^
Agreed. You can see him restrained/pulled away up the tunnel by a couple teammates in the second video.
October 31st, 2022 at 12:46 AM ^
But there is another player assisting Crump by holding Green while Crump swings the helmet at hiim? Who is that? It is a player in the single digits that much we know.
October 31st, 2022 at 9:29 AM ^
It's really hard to say. He looks bigger than a WR or DB. They have some LBs and d-linemen with single digit numbers, so I think it's likely one of them, but it's impossible to tell from the video which one.
October 31st, 2022 at 10:56 AM ^
I was watching a video this morning. Most of the adults were standing there doing nothing or running away. Then Two women in Michigan colors ran towards the attack on Green. Brave , Brave women.. The players that stood there and watch it all go down should be held accountable to. Even if it's a half game suspension.. Tho, they'd have to forfeit their next game. disgusting !!!
October 31st, 2022 at 12:02 PM ^
That one poor asshole running away. . . boy, did he distinguish himself. I hope he's found his momma by now.
October 30th, 2022 at 10:38 PM ^
Definitely more were involved between the 2 videos. Big dude swinging the helmet should be expelled
