Wolverines' Brady Hoke says QB Denard Robinson will start vs. Minnesota

Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson will start Saturday at Minnesota, coach Brady Hoke said this morning.

Hoke’s optimism remains following Robinson’s elbow nerve injury last weekend at Nebraska, when he missed the second half of a 23-9 loss.

“Yeah, we feel real good,” Hoke said on the “Stoney and Bill” show on WXYT-FM (97.1). “He’s gotten better each day, feels better each day. It’s a little bit of a different injury, but it’s come back this time a little slower. But he feels good.”

Then maybe it is a problem with Coach Hoke.

Of course, the question was, "Denard Robinson; your starting quarterback on Saturday?"

And the answer was, "Yeah! Yeah, we feel real good."

Here's the podcast:

Should be an interesting session with Stoney and Bill and Coach Hoke next week.  If Hoke's new answer is, Well, I said we felt good about it, but it just didn't progress... then I guess everybody will have to be a lot more careful about Hoke's answers in the future.

If, by "RR's recruiting classes" you mean...

  • Devin Gardner
  • Drew Dileo
  • Jake Ryan
  • Kenny Demens
  • Jeremy Gallon
  • J.T. Floyd
  • Taylor Lewan
  • Roy Roundtree
  • Brendan Gibbons

Then today is a minor triumph.  Right?  Not including the fact that but for Rich Rodriguez, Denard Robinson would be playing CB at Florida.  Right?

this is obviously a game the D has to win, as long as borges doesn't lose it.  bo-style field position ball.  right now we have 2 runs and 3 pass plays.  we will lose at that ratio.  2 runs vs every pass should do it.  a punt isn't a bad thing in this game.

Let the game play out a little.  At least give it an entire half before we start to point out how much we suck at this position and that position.  We are playing on the road and the home team is fired up, the fans are fired up, and they know we have a backup in.  Let us settle in a little and see what happens with a larger sample size.  Let's not get down on our guys at the first sign of adversity.  Give them some time.
