02/06/2016 - 9:00pm Warde is the ultimate

Warde is the ultimate competitor. He won't put up with this as long as some people on this thread seem to think. He's a big basketball guy. It's his first love. JB like every coach at Michigan, will have to audition each year. He will not hesitate to make a change if he doesn't think the program is headed in the right direction.

Would love to be a fly on the wall at JB's end of the season evaluation if he doesn't make the tournament again.

JB is currently recruiting and coaching at a mid major level.

02/06/2016 - 8:49pm There is no light at the end

There is no light at the end of the tunnel. We are recruiting are way to the middle bottom of the conference.

Our lack of athleticism is being exposed yet again.

He has 3 kids with his first wife. It's her that will cause the problems. It was a messy split. Still is.

I don't care how dominant your personality is, you take a step back when your kids are on the line. The courts don't care.

Tom Beaver is an idiot. Flat out.

11/16/2014 - 2:12pm Lol

They are clueless over there. Take it with a grain of salt.

I'll add this to the discussion. If Jim leaves the west coast, he could lose custody of his 3 kids from his first marriage. His first wife will definitely be taking it to court. For some reason, this never gets brought up. It's something he'll have to weigh in his decision. It's a factor that leads me to believe he's taking Oaklands job IF he decides to leave SF.

11/07/2013 - 4:30pm Brian graded the O-Line so

Brian graded the O-Line so highly because it fits his agenda about Borges.  If the Line blocked okay, it must be the play calling.

And for the first time, I don't even care.

Please ask why our Defensive Backs never turn their head to find the ball when they are targeted?

11/05/2013 - 4:36pm That is the biggest

That is the biggest misconception in this fan base  "Hoke won in his first year primarily with RR's recruits."   If by primarily you mean by sheer numbers, then yes, he did.

But don't get it twisted, every position group in 2011 had a kid recruited by Lloyd Carr who had next level talent.   Those were the core group of upperclassmen that lead the 2011 team.  Kovacs and Denard's leadership and athletic ability complimented them nicely.

Junior Hemmingway

Mike Martin

David Molk

RVB

Kenny Demens

Kevin Koger (tore his achillies, ended his career but he was good enough to at least make a NFL practice squad)

Will Campbell

Do we have 7 upper classmen on this year's team that will at least play a season in the NFL?   We have maybe 3 but more than likely 2.

Now why would anyone be surprised that this year's team is worse than 2011?

11/05/2013 - 2:29pm He sure didn't have a problem

He sure didn't have a problem getting Koger to sustain a block?  Why do you think that is?

Think this goes down as the first post I have ever fully agreed with Brian on.

11/05/2013 - 8:37am It looks like it's a

It looks like it's a challenge for Horford to walk in a straight line, let alone run and play basketball.  I'd rather see Morgan in there more.

JB could very well be giving Horford more minutes to get him ready as he doesn't have nearly as much experience as Morgan does over his career.

Either way, McGary will completely change this team when he's back.

07/11/2013 - 8:02am Could that reason be he

Could that reason be he destroyed his ankle just before the NFL Combine and still participated in it?

01/11/2013 - 2:29pm LOL 3 teams!!!  2 of which we

LOL 3 teams!!!  2 of which we were getting blown out before he did anything.  Stop traffic!

He is our all time leading rusher... And holds the record for all time Interceptions and turnovers.  Sorry, that is not great.

Denard is good, but no where near as great as what this site trys to make it out to be.

01/11/2013 - 11:43am That may be true, but you

That may be true, but you cannot deny the extreme drop off in production and let's not make it out to seem like Denard was going against elite defenses outside of the MAC either... He wasn't.

While we are at it, let's get a turnover egraph up there also.

01/02/2013 - 5:01pm Lost the field position

Lost the field position battle on the ensuing play.

We had all the momentum. Punt and stuff them. If we were at mid field or in their territory it would make sense, but not on your 37.

There isn't a former player or coach out there that thought that was the right call at the time. Punt it 40 yards out of bounds and go to work.

Hope I never see that play again from our 37.

01/02/2013 - 4:44pm That fake punt was the worst

That fake punt was the worst call of the year for Hoke.

Obviously you can't point to one single event for why we lost but if you could, that decision would be up there.

Doubtful

12/24/2012 - 4:17pm I'll be surprised if Denard

I'll be surprised if Denard ever takes a snap in the nfl other than special teams.

That is the niche he needs to become good at on both sides of the ball. Returner and gunner.

12/24/2012 - 4:14pm There's a dfference between

There's a dfference between being hit and delivering the hit.

I don't think you understand this given your post.

12/19/2012 - 1:39pm They took out a BCS team in

They took out a BCS team in Utah and annihilated Toledo for a bowl win. The last two years of Idaho Potato bowls were the first winning seasons in the I-A history of the program. That's a pretty solid resume.

I hope everyone sees the irony in this paragraph.

12/18/2012 - 5:23pm Carr Left RR:Tim Jamison -

Carr Left RR:

Tim Jamison - Houston Texans

Terrance Taylor - Indianapolis Colts

Brandon Graham - Philidelphia Eagles

Jonus Mouton - San Diego Chargers

Morgan Trent - Cincinatti Bengals

Stevie Brown - NYG

Zoltan Mesko - New England Patriots

David Molk - San Diego Chargers

Stephen Schilling - San Diego Chargers

Mike Martin - Tennessee Titans

RVB - Carolina Panthers

Junior Hemingway - Kansas City Chiefs

Brandon Minor (Pracitice Squad: Bears, Saints Broncos)

Steven Threet:  208 of 336 for 2553 yards 18 td's and 16 int's before having to shut his carreer down due to concussions at Arizona State.  Hardly Chopped liver (unless asked to run a run first read option spread)

I'm sure I'm forgetting other players that have played in the NFL or are now playing in the NFL that Carr recruited and left RR.   The cupboard was far from bare.   You have to be a complete Fck up to only win 3 games with that kind of talent.

RR in 3 recruiting classes will send maybe 5 guys total pro from Michigan.   That's pathetic.

I'll trade Denard right now to have our bowl streak intact.

There's only way direction that defense can go...

Kind of like our win total after RR's first year.

12/18/2012 - 2:39pm Offenses on the verge of

Unless by nuclear you mean Fukushima.

Taco tweeted that Ball was coming last week.   I didn't even realize this was a mystery...

Anyways, would love to have him.

12/11/2012 - 2:22pm This blog entry was an April

This blog entry was an April Fool's joke right?  Just searching for content to post?  I'm assuming you were.

We have no idea why Norfleet was out there.  It's PRACTICE.   Sometimes, the defense throws 12+ guys out there to make it harder on the offense.

Maybe Furman and Robinson aren't good (which you admit.)

Maybe immediately after that play, Norfleet came off the field and they put another player back there.

Maybe Norfleet was mimicking someone on USC's defense.

Maybe Maybe Maybe.  It's one clip, 2 seconds long.

If this was anything of significance, it wouldn't have been allowed on mgoblue for you to write about.

I get it though, Norfleet would have been AWESOME in RR's system and now you can't fathom how he could be moved to defense, even if for Practice purposes only.

All that clip showed us was.... NOTHING.

12/07/2012 - 8:43pm Here's one thing I know,

Here's one thing I know, having played college basketball... Coaches do not use Kenpom, or Egraphs or any other thing when implementing their philosophy.

You run what you practice.

Who gives a F what our "Tempo" rating is.

12/04/2012 - 3:27pm Looks like the SEC is moving

Looks like the SEC is moving more towards "Pro-Style" "manball" type of offenses to match up with Alabama.

I think it will get bet up to around +6 by game time.

12/03/2012 - 3:09pm And people wonder why we have

Holy Smokes that's atrocious.

Only 2 starters out of the 13 that remain too.

12/03/2012 - 2:51pm Hopkins transfered so more

Hopkins transfered so more than likely there won't be an unblocked linebacker when that play is called again...

12/03/2012 - 2:49pm Denard is a super hero and a

Denard is a super hero and a saint to most people who read this site.   Stop using logic and forcing people to critical think.  They won't do it when Denard Robinson is mentioned.

12/03/2012 - 1:34pm You really didn't play Devils

You really didn't play Devils Advocate because by no means am I saying we are Good.

However, we are good enough to compete with South Carolina and could possibly win.  It will be a battle.

South Carolina has a similar record to ours if they play Alabama @nd and @ohio IMO.

South Carolina has 3 wins against BCS bowl eligible teams.   Color me, "not scared"

12/03/2012 - 12:24pm We will be in this game until

We will be in this game until the end.

When you break down South Carolina's schedule.  They went 2-2 against teams with a pulse and barely got by a bad Tennessee team.   They are good but not elite (We have faced 3 teams better than them this year and were competitive in 2 of them.)

Florida dropped 44 on them (which is the only game Florida scored 40 or more points).
Tennessee 35
LSU 23 (which when taking out the scrub teams LSU played, is above their average)

I could see this game going either way.   Don't count out the Wolverines.  We may be the only B1G to win its bowl game...

11/29/2012 - 12:23pm Teams with Least TOP:

Teams with Least TOP:

1. Houston
2. Kentucky

3. Indiana

4. Baylor

5. Miami

6. N Illinois

7. BC

8. Arizona

9. UNC

10. Tennessee

I'll take the top 10 teams in TOP vs the Bottom ten teams in TOP any day.

And if that Sample Size isn't large enough, Let's do the top 25 teams in TOP.  They happen to include:  Alabama, ND, LSU, Stanford, Kansas State, Florida

Stop thinking Brian is the end all be all in football discussions.  EGRAPHS DO NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY.

11/29/2012 - 11:14am How about you eliminate the

How about you eliminate the Mid Majors and stick to BCS teams.   Almost all of those Mid Majors played BCS schools out of conference...

If you do not think TOP is a major factor in success then you've never played the sport.

Stick to Egraphs Brave.  They tell the whoooole story...

You would have TCU, MSU, Florida, Wisconsin, Notre Dame...

That looks like a pretty solid list of teams to me.

Now, take the top 10 BCS teams with Least TOP and compare them.  I bet it's eye opening ;)

11/18/2012 - 1:22pm He got switched over to the

He got switched over to the OL for crying out loud.  Most of the problems were with the previous incompetent staff.

There's a host of former players I feel sorry for, primarily Obi Ezeh.

Good for Big Will and you have to love this staff.  I wouldn't change our coaching staff for any other one in the country.

11/16/2012 - 3:42pm There's some harsh reality

There's some harsh reality for fans.

Your first line had me cracking up.   Hahaha.

11/13/2012 - 12:50pm I agree with this.  Without

I agree with this.  Without Denard, we have no run game, however, we still have purpose with our offense.  Play Action works with Devin even with an elementary run game.

I feel like Borges feels comfortable using 25% of his play book with Denard and 75% of it with Devin (and only 2 weeks in with Devin).   I would love to see them both in the game, just Devin taking the snap and Denard lined up next to him.

Give me that a few times against Ohio State.  We've been dying for it, for 3 years and it not be a decoy.

11/13/2012 - 10:57am As soon as people realize the

As soon as people realize the stat sheet doesn't tell the entire story, the sooner they will realize that Devin is a better QB.   His reads, his accuracy, his pocket awareness, all better than Denard.  Our offense for the first time in 2 years has an identity while Play-calls are building off one another.  Players seem to be improving (outside the offensive line who reached their ceiling in game one)   These are things the stat sheet won't show but as a fan, you can feel it.

Denard is a dynamic runner and leader, it stops there though no matter what the stat sheet says.

I think we can win out with Devin and take extraordinary steps forward for the 2013 season.  Why shouldn't we do that?   After all, it is what's best for the team, isn't it?

11/13/2012 - 10:50am I think having -9668 pts is

I think having -9668 pts is far more impressive than the opposite.
