Onwenu is going to be on Webb's show tomorrow and also mods from all sites are saying big Mike will end up at Michigan. No player is ever a dead lock to be good. Look at Kalis for example.
That's not at all what Balas said. He simply said they're not as confident as they were earlier due to recent developments, but he just updated and said his earlier report wasn't accurate. He remains confident.
We were in position to win, but that doesn't mean Rudock's play was good. His biggest positive is that he doesnt make a lot of risky plays. If we have a QB who is half as good as Cook, we're up 9+ with 10 seconds lef
Also, with the oversigning..even with your scholly limitations, Meyer has signed over 20 more kids the last few years than Michigan has. It's certainly an advantage filtering out kids who don't produce and replacing them with new 4-5 star kids.
Chris Balas was adamant that Bob Stoopd was plan B. He said there was contact with him, but it never got further because of the confidence in Harbaugh.
To be fair they never said what his position would be, he could be some lesser role coach and not the RBs coach. He's been at UM a long time so i doubt they just kick him to the curb. Of he is in fact the RB coach, then I will be slightly more concerned.
It's incredible how undersized 2 star recruits come in and become physical specimens. They have college success, then go to the NFL, slim down, and become irrelevent.
Is this just being reported from the Raiders camp, to make it look like they tried, when they don't get him? With everything thats been reported and confirmed, there's no reason for Harbaugh to meet, or even the 49ers to let them meet.
This past season was more about this teams all around dysfunction than Nuss's poor play calling. I was scratching my head at times with the play calling, but I alsl understand, play calling was the least of our problems. I firmly believe our team wouldnt have been any different even with the best OC in the nation. That being said, I would prefer a different OC, but I would have no problem with him being retained if the new HC chose to do so.
If UK and the 76ers played a full 82 game series head to head, I dont see UK winning more than 5-7 games. The size/speed/strength is so incredibly different. NBA is full of what were college stars. Plenty of what were college stars end up in the D-League.
I have never subscribed to him, and after hearing everything he is relaying during this search, I'm glad. I chose to subscribe to Balas and company. If Sam ends up being waaaay off, I hope people let him hear about it. People don't pay to be filled full of BS on these sites. I just can't believe how back and forth Sam is every other day. Sam is fantastic on the recruiting trail, I'll give him that.
I find it interesting he laughed at the caller who said Les Miles, and said it's not him. When the caller asked if it were Harbaugh, he just said he's not saying a name.
Webb has always been pretty spot on with recruiting. That being said, he was pretty out of touch with Dave Brandon's departure, and even seemed misinfirmed regarding Hoke.
Oh boy, somebody gave an uninformed opinion about a situation they don't really know about. Why post these articles unless there's a solid source or substance?
He has done absolutely nothing to garner hate from people. I will root for him (like i do for RR as well) wherever he ends up. I wish him all the very best.
It's not about one game, but a body of work. TCU's only loss is to a top ranked team. TCU has a stronger all around resume. Baylor has a terrible loss. TCU easily for me. By saying Baylor deserves to be in, makes TCU's resume even better. If the Big 12 would get over themselves, and have a conference championship, this wouldn't be a topic.
I don't understand the Mullen desire. His resume is a one hit wonder. Next year, with players leaving, they'll be average again. He's in his 6th year and they've never finished higher than 4th in the SEC.
Logically, Hoke being retained is bad all around. A lame duck coach = horrible recruiting. Signing an extension = more money from the university if mediocracy continues. Hoke returns = fan base / donors / season ticket holders most likely rebel and keep their checkbooks closed. It would take an extremely stubborn person to retain Hoke in this situation, and I don't mean that with any disrespect towards Hoke.
If a guy has a dream of being a valet driver, and finds a place that will pay him millions of dollars to do it, would you feel bad for him if he kept bumping cars into each other? Because I sure wouldn't. Nothing personal against Hoke, he appears to be a great person and mentor, just not the guy we need leadng our program.
A coach throwing a headset is much much much different than a player throwing his helmet. There's nothing illegal about removing your headset. Atleast he shows emotion.
It feels like every play is a slow developing play that never works. The only ones that don't, are Drake's carries and its just because he gets the ball amd doesnt hesitate. Everything DG does feels like slow motion.
But wait, I thought keeping Hoke around longer was going to save this class?! On a serious note, can't blame the kid. As long as Hoke and his staff are here, I wouldn't commit myself to years of mediocrity, either.
I would love to see what Nuss could be with his own staff, because frankly nobody would have success being a play caller with players who have been so poorly molded by these goons. I absolutely love the fire Nuss shows, he's the only guy who looks like he gives a damn. While I certainly don't think Nuss should be given the job next year, I would be interested in what changes would be made if he had control for the next month.
There's no doubt Nuss has stunk up until now, but he's clearly handicapped by the staff he's surrounded by. Not a single OC in the country would succeed with this team. To have a fluid offense, every offensive group needs to be on the same page and progress together. I hope we find coaches who can provide these things.
