No, that's the type of hire that someone makes when it seems like a good idea.  I thought it was a hire, so did Brian and many others.  In hindsight it looks terrible.

You could accuse Harbaugh of doing that when he hired Don Brown (hiring an outside guy who is achieving success elsewhere).  And I think we are all happy about that decision.

When Don has the recruits and talent that is needed to run his scheme against the best offensive teams is when we'll be happy. You think he can just make adjustments and shut that offense down next year in Ann Arbor? Not going to happen. That gun is cocked, loaded and coming right back. The only chances they have next year is a ton of lucky swings or that these boys work so hard that they get that much stronger and faster.

If Haskins goes to the NFL, OSU will not be that great on offense next year. They don’t have another NFL QB on the roster that can hit guys like Haskins can. I’m not saying they’ll be bad on offense next year; it should be a good offense. But Haskins is a legit first round NFL QB. Urban has only ever had 1 of those in his career. There’s not another QB on that roster like Haskins. So yes there offense will be good next year, and it will be a good game. But they are not putting up 62 next year at the Big House. Unless Haskins comes back and Michigan doesn’t adjust at all. I doubt Haskins comes back though.

I'm glad this is posted so hopefully this is the last post about a Big 12 coach with a losing record I have to see this year on here.

I'd almost argue that this not only offsets the decision to keep Drevno, however, also should help mask that OL. Expect them to throw the ball 8-12 times more per game, easily. Primarily out of the Shotgun... some Pistol formations? I haven't watched much of TTU this year.

Well I know teams like UCF, Memphis, Houston, Oklahoma St, Houston, Missouri, Syracuse, Boise St, NC St, etc all have high scoring offenses. Why cant Harbaugh pluck a guy from one of these schools?

He basically looked at total defense and saw how good BC was and went and got Don Brown. No reason it cant work for the offense.

All of these schools run a variation of uptempo/spread and would be an upgrade to the archaic style Michigan currently deploys.
