Amazing that we have two more starters for next year's line. PSU has been know as LB U. We are now OL U! (and we have Olu, too for 2 more games, hopefully)

I know nothing about nothing, but given Chris’ experience going pro early and Seth’s write up that he wasn’t the best at Stanford you got to think Moore gets him fixed in year one and he’s all-world in year 2. Convincing myself we get two years.

If you combine the portal additions to our current class, it definitely paints this years recruiting cycle in a much better light

That is how classes need to be graded moving forward. It's clear Harbaugh is looking at the transfer portal like unlimited free agency, which is a much less risky and cheap way of filling out rosters than pursuing high school 5 stars. Not saying Michigan shouldn't be pursuing 5 stars, but at what cost when there is another alternative.

I think this is how the "blue bloods" will do it going forward. The 4 and 5 stars high school kids will still go there as Fr. But many low 4, 3 stars will seek opportunities for playing time to show their skill and end up at blue blood later on.
There will for sure be have's and have nots developing over the next couple years.

It also could be more or less a return to the days prior to scholarship limits when the blue blood stockpiled talent. With NIL, scholarship limit no longer = roster limit.

Within limits, there are benefits beyond financial that walk-ons do not recieve and would speculate most of the guys "over the limit" are just well compensated walk-on talent.

I'm just glad we are being active in the portal. As much as we complain about NIL and recruiting, this portal group is seriously impressive. I have to wonder if this is a sign we are going to be more aggressive across the board. It seems like in the past we only got grad transfers but now it seems as if we are going after anyone we think fills a hole on the team. I'm probably reaching but it is still exciting.

It’s not that Michigan is using the portal. IMO, it is HOW the portal is being used and WHO they are 1) pursuing in the portal, and 2) has interest in Michigan.
Bama is another team that uses the portal. Michigan’s performance on the field these past two seasons is w the difference.
When the transfers are 1) grad transfers, 2) talented, and 3) bring experience & maturity - like Olu, it’s a perfect fit.
I would expect that Michigan will continue to take advantage of everything available.
