Hello: Kevin Warren, new B1G Commissioner

Submitted by Great Cornholio on June 4th, 2019 at 6:02 PM

I realize there was an earlier speculative thread, but now it's official: Minnesota Vikings exec Kevin Warren to succeed Chuckles Delany; transition begins in September.

My wish list for the new commish:

1. Remove Rutgers from the conference

2. Realign conference divisions in some fashion whereby we get three home games in a row against MSU (aka right the wrong +50%)

3. Eliminate in-game instant replay

A fan can dream!

Your need to interject politics where it doesn't belong says something bad about you.

Many people in your life feel this way as well, but they like you too much to mention it. I don’t.

Rutgers can stay as long as they compete in every sport. Not just one, but every one.

Know it doesn't matter and it was a while back - but on the face of it, really strange that he had a hoops scholarship to Penn, an Ivy League school, but then transferred back home to Grand Canyon University to finish undergrad.

Obviously no dummy - ASU MBA, Notre Dame law degree.  I will skip the Domer jokes though it hurts.

Hope he makes some real changes.  Delaney (aka Dilberts Boss) sucked ass...

Shorten commercial breaks by doing live ads reads by the announcers and having sponsored box scores and scrolls. Your welcome new guy.

At the very least MSU and Ohio should alternate home games. I'd like to see some accountability for refs and officials and/or better pay and training. Finally, setting a minimum standard of medical care and visitor locker rooms would be welcomed.

The wide hashmarks improve the college game by having legitimate near side and wide sides of the field.  The NFL may as well just center the ball after every play.

And, I've never understood why you'd want coaches challenges.  "Hey, coach, should we get this call right?"  "Naah, go ahead and mess this one up.  I'll ask you to get one right later."

Some around here knew some backstory(s) and had some pretty compelling arguments for why Delaney may have not been a fan of or did not do his best to help out U of M.  Curious if anyone has anything on this cat that would be comparable or is the fresh blood pretty even keeled (or at least hopefully)?!

I don’t know why so many Michigan fans have a fixation with Rutgers.  It’s kinda pathetic, especially since they beat us less than 5 years ago.

Replay is a necessary evil. If it can clean up a couple of bad calls a game, it's worth it, they just need to streamline the process. This should be the golden rule of instant replay:

IF YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE SAME REPLAY MORE THAN ONCE, THE CALL STANDS.

Done.

Go back in time to when Pitt, Syracuse and MIzzou were available, and add them to the conference instead of Rutgers and Maryland. And then go get Notre Dame. Full membership, no half-ass ACC bullshit. I’m Kevin Warren, your university sits in the geographical center of my conference, and you are joining it.”

Disappointed in all of you.  Although it was referenced, this far into a thread re B1G commish and no one has yet posted comedian / masturbator pic.

People love to hate Rutgers for being new to the conference and bad at sports. Meanwhile, Alabama will play Western Carolina University in late November.

I have no idea why people wish our schedule was even more difficult every year.

It's a boring game, but ffs the "we're too good for you" elitist mindset is gross.
