Someone has to be "serious" about UK, so it might as well be me.  Yes, they reloaded, Calipari is great, etc, but they did lose the first two picks in the draft, a total of four in the first round, and two more in the second round.

I know UK only buys the best of the best, but they can't just roll the ball out and make the Final Four with all new starters every year.  I think they will be decent, but not as good as Dickie V thinks they will be.  Getting outbid by UCLA for Shabazz Muhammad didn't help them, either.

I think they'll be good by March, but I also expect them to lose a few early.

Hard to not like MSU with Izzo's career track record. They've got a frosh class about as good as ours coming in and return alot of guys. They did lose their best player and leader, but they will probably not be as dependent on one guy as they were last year. I expect their defense to be better too.

"Flamebait is a message posted to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a "flame") or argument over a topic the troll often has no real interest in."

The full Wiki article about internet flaming can be found here.

Now, I wouldn't and did not downvote your comment as flamebait, but seeing as the mention of MSU on here gets people quite riled up, it did seem to fit the definition quite nicely...

was better.  Gang goes to the Jersey Shore probably was too. (The Gang sets Charlie up-better known as the "Milksteak episode," Franks intervention, and The Gang's extreme Makeover-Home Edition) also.

But that is top ten.

to go to the insults.  There was some good stuff there but they hit their stride in Season 5.  Almost everything before that was uneven, there was some good stuff, "human meat" and "mac bangs dennis' mom" stand out, but they needed some polishing before the show really delivered.  I stand by my list, and you can piss down a rope.

And let it go Ghost of Yost.

If I must single out a few episodes, I'd say "Paddy's Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens", "The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell", "Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person", "Who Got Dee Pregnant?" and of course "The Nightman Cometh."  I probably could go on forever and will end up naming pretty much every single episode, but those are the ones that do stick out to me right now.

Pretty much, if an episode has an abundant amount of Frank, Charlie, Rickety Cricket, or the McPoyles, it's an instant classic in my book.

thread is about Dick Vitale's top 25, I am interested in his top 25, and I can't help but notice that he has State a lot higher than most national pundits or publications.  And this is a Michigan blog!! Again, Flamebait??

BIG is going to be hotly contested, I think anyone of those teams listed, save Minnesota, is capable of winning the BIG.

Thankfully for M, they have what amounts to a 4th year sophomore running the point. I have full confidence in young Burke.

Nice to see that Vitale thinks the Big Ten is the toughest conference in America.

"Tom Izzo is confident that he has the horses to compete in the toughest conference in America."

Our average ranking is 13th compared to 18th for the Big East, 20th for the ACC and a statistical tie for 21st for the Big XII and SEC. Amid so much less-than-complimentary talk about football in our conference, it is nice to see a compliment paid to our basketball teams.

As for what Mgrowold said in a reply earlier, it so happens that there are three teams each from the ACC Atlantic, ACC Coastal, Big Ten Legends and Big Ten Leaders. So, at least by Vitale's figuring, it may be the case that ACC Atlanic is approximately the Big Ten Legends, which is also approximately the ACC Coastal, which is in turn approximately the Big Ten Leaders.

I think Iowa might actually also be a top 40 team.  They stunk the OOC part of the schedule but really seemed to get it together during the conference schedule, practically everyone is back, and they add a 6'11" center with a good recruiting ranking.

Honestly, it seems to high but then I look at the rest of the teams on the list I have a hard time figuring out who is that much better than UM.  I mean, even Duke looks mediocre.  Also, Indiana is going to disappoint if he thinks they are #2 - I don't think they'll even win the Big 10.

Went to Sweet 16 and return a lot of players from last year. They have the best recruiting class as well. Put them together, you can see why so many are so high on IU. They beat Kentucky last year albeit at home but still....

As for Michigan, they return just about everybody including arguably the best PG on the country in Burke. They also bring in a top 5-10 recruiting class, you see why so many really liked Michigan. They won a share of B1G with a much weaker talent than MSU and OSU. They clearly upgraded in talent and athleticism and JB really knows how to make most of his players. This is why I am dreaming of a Final Four appearance.
