Indy Pete - Go Blue

It is nice to see a selfless teammate who continually moved away from his most naturally dominant position for the sake of the team. I hope that his selflessness is rewarded with a long career as a versatile and effective lineman. Congrats Mason!

I think this draft more demonstrates how young Michigan was last season and the fact that Michigan only has a QB (O’Korn, fat chance), G/C (Cole), G/C (Kugler likely undrafted), a DT (Hurst with health issues) and a LB (McCray, possible late pick) that are even eligible to be drafted. I do believe the cupboards were pretty bare when Hoke arrived in terms of depth and actual number of players at certain positions, but that has nothing to do with the draft. This draft shows nothing more than how young of a team Michigan has.

Literally just sat down after a LONG day, in time to hear Welcome Mason Cole.

Well OK! Now someone out there figure out what you got with Mo Hurst.

the appropriate thing to do is congratulate Mason Cole. Way to go, Mason!!! May your NFL career be long and successful and include someday a Super Bowl Championship!

While I'm as pissed as anyone about Hurst being overlooked, it really isn't surprising. NFL GMs are the most risk-averse people on the planet. If a player doesn't fit their preconceived notions of a sure pick, they won't get drafted. Mo's heart scare has unfairly doomed him.

He’ll get drafted today for sure, though. It’s unfortunate that this came up as it’s cost him a lot of money, but at a certain point in the draft GMs decide it’s worth taking a flier on him.

If it works out, they got a first round talent for a steal. If it doesn’t, well, you only lost a fourth or fifth round pick out of it. I can’t imagine him slipping past the fifth round. Some GM will sit there and say he’s worth the risk at this point.

Happy for Mason. I think he will have a long solid career. He obviously didn’t have the best OL coach while in college so he could improve a lot.

Congrats Mason Cole on the draft pick!

Hoping to see Mo get drafted soon along with you.

80 straight years of Michigan Men getting drafted into the NFL! More than any other school!  That is certainly not a stat to shy away from.

Leaders and Best.

Happy for Cole, he deserves it. But as said above, what the f*ck???? Mo will be fine, but it’s absolute bs he hasn’t been drafted. He’ll make his money on his second contract for sure, but I really feel for him. He’s worked his ass off and deserved better. I get maybe falling to the second round, but this is one of the strangest things I’ve seen in the draft in quite a while.
