Buck the Broncos. Bang bang!

Submitted by Taco Panda on

It’s just the beginning. Let’s see our dominant D blank the Broncos and an offensive performance that gives some hope for an awesome season ahead. Bang bang and Go Blue!

if you really want to do some bronco busting, so to speak, you can come up here and ride our cattle.  not quite the same thing, they're way bigger than broncos, but there's a few of them that will give you one heck of a ride.  skittish, large, athletic, you'll be in for quite a ride....

great weekend of perfect weather ahead, 70 and sunny for days, kids football of all ages being played.  its great - to be - a mich-i-gan wolverine!

I have an extra spot for the Victor's Lounge -- free food, drinks hosted by WTKA --any takers? Would have to meet me early and be my plus one (no physical ticket) . Respond and I'll give you particulars.

Edit the food is ribs, chorizo breakfast  quesadilla, mini pretzel brats from Ciris, Agave and the Heidelberg.

I really think the reports of the MGoBlog demise are being greatly exaggerated.  This place was hopping before the ND game.  If you think back to seasons past, there was noticeable apathy after a big loss, particularly so when the next few weeks offer only tomato cans for comfort.  What really is there to say right now.  Beat Western!  Doesn't have much of a ring to it.

The front page content has been solid and frequent.  The UFR was downright fantastic from a content perspective.  Both Seth and Space Coyote are balling.  We even got a Charles Matthews think-piece the other day which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I think the conversation on the Board was robust following the game, but now we have this window of time where we won't really find anything out for like 3 weeks.  Add that to the fact that people seem to at least be trying to adhere to "no politics" and very limited OT, I think this is a pretty natural and predictable down week (or two) for the Board.

It may be because you were seemingly on sabbatical (read: hooker and blow bender) for an extended period after the conversion and had not really gotten the feel for the new site.  I think you will get used to it and see that this place is filled with the same glorious debauchery that it always was.

I've been a regular poster for quite some time now, though not as long as you.  And it seems to me that the number of OP's and posts within those OP's has never been lower.  Even the number of comments on front page content is way down.  UFR's used to get hundreds of posts beneath them.

New threads used to be posted throughout the day, and there was always some activity on the board.  Now I can refresh it after 2 hours and find that the 3 "active" threads each have a few new posts, and that's it.  Hot threads are few and far between.

I hope I'm wrong, but it really seems slow around here now.  Hopefully the site gets enough pageviews from lurkers.

This week, I agree.  The Board is slow.  But it was pretty hot last week before the game.  I think it is less that MGoBlog is going downhill and more that I really think there were quite a few "on the fence" fans after last season that watched the first quarter of Saturday and said "to hell with that."  I think that is real.  If we are 5-1 going into the Wisconsin game a lot of those people will come back into the fold.  But it could be tumbleweeds around here for a while.  A lot of people had a lot of emotional energy tied up in winning that game to silence the naysayers and instead the naysayers are now having a nationwide Michigan-sucks-confirmation-orgy on every media outlet on the planet.  Tough week to be a Michigan fan.

Give it a couple of weeks.

So last year was the first season since 1967 that Michigan failed to score over 35 points once in any game.  Most years had at least two games of 40+.

Looking over some of those box scores last year.  Woof.  Here's to a right and proper whoopin tomorrow otherwise it's bourbon for breakfast when the schedule gets rough again.

“Our D isn't as good as last year” and you say this with a single game as evidence? Also despite 9 returning starters and Ross being an obvious upgrade over McCray?  69 total yards against them in the second half.  Bad couple of drives to open the game...I’ll give you that. Otherwise, you’re making shit up without data to support it

Can't wait to be back in the place I worship - The Big House! I will be bringing along a Bronco....my apologies....fortunately for me she's a very good looking Bronco, and I'm looking forward to a beat down for her to witness. Go Blue!!

Looking forward to what should have been our week 1 game. Should be a nice relaxing hamblasting of the broncos

However, I predict that like most games, the defenses worst drive will be their first one. The Broncos score a touchdown and mgoblog completely loses its collective mind. Then we coast to a nice 51-7 win
