Awesome!

I also have been thinking about the '69 team lately. Looking at OSU, and looking at how we started the season, it seems we have no chance against them.

But our guys are putting it together, in season, like that '69 squad did. Maybe? Possibly?

Life is too short to not hope for the occasional (once every 50 years) unexpected moment of unforgettable glory...

The big house will be rocking. I'm praying fans don't tank in the OSU game and stay loud all game despite any setback.  Because I think we win if they do.   This game is setting up beautifully.  OSU will be the top team and we will beat them, just like Bo did.

Shook Bo's hand at midfield after Fiesta Bowl victory followed by Jim Harbaugh and Jamie Morris. Still have not washed that hand. Go Blue!! It's time to end this nightmare and beat the snot out of the whole unholy trinity. 1 down 2 to go.

I've heard this brought up a few times. I think Michigan hs a real shot against Ohio State, and would be inclined to pick Michigan if Ohio State wasn't so good.

Judging by Harbaugh's past gameplans for OSU, I really wouldn't be surprised if this was the year (well, Michigan beat them in 2016.) If we can get fair officiating on the 30th, I think it's anyone's game. I really hope they hand out rally towels for The Game so that we can throw them at the refs and cause a real scene at their first blown call.

Agreed, blaming everything on the refs gets old. Do we get jobbed every once in awhile, sure, but so does everyone else. We just don't see it, because we don't care about them.

Drop the RB in the backfield on 3rd down and the Spot never matters.

That being said, I see the OSU game something like 42-24 bad guys. Love for them to prove me wrong.

You really think it was just one blown call?  If so, you didn't watch the game.  And I'm not even talking about the spot - a judgement call that happens every time the chains are brought out, many times a game.  All the other non-calls and outright bogus calls by an officiating crew obviously slanted towards OSU (verified through social media) had more affect on the game than that one spot did.

I did watch the game, yes. The officiating was no better or worse in that game than any other game.  Officials are humans, they make mistakes and judgment errors.

The only reason we blame that loss on the officials is because we were "this close" but aren't willing to blame "our" guys for coming up short . Their athletes made the plays that had to be made, ours did not. It happens.

I think the only way we have a chance is if we punch them in the mouth in the first quarter. If we fall behind early, I don't see us being able to crawl out of a hole against Ohio State the way we almost did against Penn State.

One thing we potentially have going for us is that Ryan Day is a first year head coach. It's possible that he may be so laser-focused on maintaining the well-oiled machine that Meyer built that he overlooks the adjustments coaches have to make for major rivalry games.

Here's another thing - we have a first time OC who has never schemed for an OSU game so nobody knows what he's going to do, along with Harbaugh who has schemed at least a couple GREAT OSU game plans, AND Warinner who knows a lot about going up against Mattison.

Combine that with an utter lack of hype and we have a recipe for a shocking upset. It's not a likely upset, but it's setting up nicely for one.

Yes...I've been thinking that this season, in some ways, parallels 1969 but...

After that so-called "Revenge Tour" shit last year, I trust nothing until it happens

I trust nothing until it happens

I hear this sentiment expressed in here often and it always makes me wonder how do people who hold it live their lives. First, past results (good, bad, or indifferent) are not indicative of future results.  Michigan could lose every game and beat OSU, win every game and lose to OSU or anywhere in between.  Results aren’t cumulative — except in the minds of fans, it appears.  If they were, Michigan should be favored to win as, historically, Michigan has beat OSU more times than its lost.  I get the recent history, obviously, every game stands on its own.  It’s a good thing that the players and coaches don’t have the same attitude that you and others take in that regard.

Whats your point? You seem to be making an argument not far removed from the foolish notion that because either Michigan or OSU must win its a 50-50 thing.

OSU is the better team this year by just about  every metric as well as the eye test. Thats what matters, not 1969, not the series record, not last year. Michigan can win but a whole lot needs to go our way.

Great stuff, love that history. Maybe this team picks up that magic the next three games and can give Ohio a run for The Game. Here's hoping.
