All are playing on the road as ~10 point favorites.

If memory serves, a 10 point dog has about a 20% chance of pulling the upset.  So it's about 50/50 that at least one of those three go down tonight
(1.00 - 0.8^3)

That just allows Richt to say to Nauta, "if we had you, we'd have run a play more geared towards getting you in a position to win us the game.

We want Florida to lose. And Maryland to Beat Iowa. And JT Barrett to be suspended for more than one game.

Going with Iowa-Maryland for the moment, and a typically excruciating Iowa drive actually failed to come up with points, something which for them has been a rarity this year. I have a hard time imagining Maryland winning this game - Akrum Wadley just seems like the classic Iowa back that would run a down team of Maryland's caliber into the pavement.

Is it mathematically possible for a team to win the B1G West, make it to the championship game and win that. Making them champions but not bowl eligible? What will the CFP committee do? A team could lose all nonconference games, go 4-4 in conference beating the right teams and hilarity ensues.

If every team in the West were to lose all of its crossover games, a team could potentially win the West with a 4-4 conference record. Add a fifth win for the BTCG, and that's not enough. If that team also went 0-4 in the nonconference, you've got a 4-8 Big Ten Champion. I doubt it would ever happen, but yeah--looks like it's mathematically possible.

The committee would do exactly what they do now: take the top 4 teams. Chances are if you win the B1G and aren't bowl eligible, there will not be a Big Ten team in the playoffs. My guess is that would be next to impossible. Because to not get 6-7 wins, I'm not sure how you'd win the conference. Next year we go to a 9-game conference slate... 6 of those games are against your division... So even in a conference like the SEC now, you need to win at least 4 of those.

As long as they lose, it's all good by me. We need some upsets today (and a win on our end, of course) to move up in the polls.

We're probably stuck around where we're at for the time being unless a few teams ahead of us lose. We don't have a chance to make any kind of statement win for a few weeks.

What's this thing on ESPN scrolling about how JT Barrett is not subject to a two-week suspension under Ohio State's drug & alcohol policy because he's only charged with a misdemeanor? That seems odd. I'd be surprised if a school's policy actually required a felony charge for the institution to impose sanctions.

I don't get it either.  The OSU code of conduct makes no distinction between felonies and misdemeanors:

B. Second Positive

4. The student-athlete will be subject to a two-week suspension from all competition at the earliest available time. If the student athlete competes in multiple sports, the suspension will be served in the sport that the positive tests occurred. If the positive tests occurred in more than one sport, the suspension will be served at the earliest available time.

I guess OSU is counting the bye week as one of the weeks, which seems absurd.
