Afternoon Game Thread

2 really good games on tap - the big one down south and we should have a very good game up in Madison.   Time to see if Nebraska is a fraud.   Would be nice if NW could make ND sweat for a half or something.

Update: 45 combined passing yards btw Neb-Wiscy in 1st half.

Wisconsin dominating the game on the box score by nearly 3:1 in yards but those 3 turnovers keeping Neb close.

Every team has these tests during the year.  Bama won 14-13 vs Arkansas.

I think Bama is better than TCU and its probably not even close.  Bama has had the #1 class like 4 years in a row.  They are littered with 5 stars everywhere and where there are not 5s they are 4s.  TCU recruits in the 40s and 50s most year - in the Big 10 that would be like Illinois level - they are apples to oranges.

As of last week Bama had 1 premier win - vs LSU, and a secondary win of West Virginia in a pretty close game.  TCU had Oklahoma, and just demolished Kansas State.   They also beat West Virginia and Minnesota - not great teams but not junk.  What the committee did made sense for that specific week - they are taking it week by week.  Alabama lacked quality wins.  But they still had Miss State and Auburn ahead of them to vault to the top if they won out.

This week the winner of Miss State- Bama will be ahead of TCU and if it had been say a 23-17 win for Bama Miss State would have fallen but stayed ahead of TCU IMO.  If it stays 19-3, Miss State may still stay ahead of TCU.  TCU is out of quality wins to be had.

College football makes no sense. ND shuts out Michigan 31-0, barely loses on the road to FSU, while NW can't manage more than 9 points against a bad Michigan team, and yet they have no trouble putting up 23 points in just one half against ND. That's why I'd never bet big money on CFB... too unpredictable. Which is why I love it so much.
