Hey Pete, not only that but Bama doesn't have to worry about any one player not including them or not eventually going there, they do just fine in recruiting so maybe in the future all OP's shouldn't waste our time with silly titles about Bama, it's laughable at this point.

I suspect that the OP included the reference to Alabama, not because he's principally concerned with their fate, but because their inclusion in a prospective recruit's top-five almost certainly diminishes the probability that said recruit ends up at UM. But I could be wrong.

Yes, this is most definitely the reason. Bama's inclusion or exclusion from the Top 5 has a major impact on whether or not he ends up at Michigan.

Dunno about Tempe--though I hear the water question looms large. Was in Tuscaloosa for the first time in 15 years with my kid for a soccer camp two weeks ago and was astonished how much that town is transformed. The downtown was full of life on a July weekend, and the city has mushroomed, as well as the campus, which I didn't remember being nice at all. A lot of it tacky growth, I'd be the first to assert. But it's amazing how much impact football can have on a city, a university, and town.

I haven't really heard if anyone with insider knows if he has a "bama" offer or a Bama offer. It does appear recently he had met directly this summer with Saban himself, so that anecdote would seem to lend itself towards the latter.

Is it one of the 250+ offers by alabama to the top 250+ ranked players, or is it one of the real 30+ offers? btw, how the hell do they get away with signing 25+ player classes every year? From what I've read, the SEC schools offer one year scholarships, whereas the other major conferences offer 4 years guaranteed. That way, a junior at Alabama who has not cracked the two-deep gets a handshake and is shown the door.
More informed readers should correct me, but I believe that was a discussion a few years ago related to Tennessee signing 25+ every year.
