weekend visitors
AFAIK, the visitors are Tamani Carter, Frank Clark, Justice Hayes, Stefan McClure, Tony Posada, Raymon Taylor, Matt Wile and Leilon Willingham. I'm hoping that Posada will reaffirm his commitment and Wile will be the next in, but all I've heard so far is Justic Hayes tweeting that it's "Cold den a mugg!"

I wonder if Hoke will be making snow angels?

Will this weekend produce any new commits or recommits? Also how is the visits going? Really neat picture on recruits on field!

I read somewhere that he intends to wait a day after the visit, but could commit on the spot.
January 22nd, 2011 at 9:46 AM ^
There's been some buzz that Raymon Taylor will commit soon. Other than that, I'm not sure.

I sure really hope we could pull that outside linebacker from Colorado! On film he looks like a beast! I got a great feeling about this weekend! I predict we get up to 5 to 6 of the guys that are visiting. Maybe not during visit but by signing day!

Hakeem Flowers is announcing Sunday. He'll probably pick M. OH DE/TE Keith Heitzman is supposedly announcing today for M. Some other wild cards to throw out there include Taylor, K Matt Wile, and OH LB Frank Clark

did clark already take his Minny OV?
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:29 AM ^
No, and he's probably not going to
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:43 AM ^
With regards to Wile he is still visiting Nebraska next weekend?
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:46 AM ^
Re: Clark, yes, that's the vibe I've gotten. Way too short for TE, and Hoke loved his D tape.
Re: Wile, yes, but there's a chance he commits this weekend and cancels that visit. Slight, but it could happen.

He's waiting for Touchdown Jesus to pass him the keys.

I've been living down here in Florida since I left Michigan in 2008...Yikes!
January 22nd, 2011 at 10:03 AM ^
I've been down in SW Florida since 2007, and that picture made me shiver. Never thought I'd say that, since I used to wear wind breakers in the dead of winter in Michigan.
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:07 AM ^
C'mon guys, don't give in to the blood thinning. The secret is to not wear jackets until its in the 30s. I've been here since 1986 and the first real cold spell affects me, but I am usually good after that.
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:30 AM ^
Used to do the same.
Living in Los Angeles has made me a complete weather pussy.
January 22nd, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
A complete wuss...hell Hermosa gets cold this time of year for me. Lived down there for 3 yrs. I'm over in WeHo now. It amazes me that 50 @ night here feels chilly. Can't imagine 30's or 20's back in Michigan. Ouch!
January 22nd, 2011 at 3:36 PM ^
It was 2 degrees here last night.
January 22nd, 2011 at 10:07 AM ^
It's been cold but it hasn't been damp. Once the sun come out, if it comes out, these boys will feel like they are in heaven.

I know its cold, but most of the recruits on campus are from the cold. Only three aren't (if you want to count the kicker) being Posada, McClure, and Wile. This could be shaping up to be a very good weekend.
January 22nd, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
For some reason, it still feels un-f**king-believably cold to me!
January 22nd, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
If you dress for success, it really isn't a big deal to be out in the cold. Long johns are a must, winter boots, some warm socks and gloves, a few layers of shirts/sweaters, and you will be quite comfy. Oh yeah you need a winter coat too.
I know I am in the minority here, but I would rather spend two hours outside when it is 25 as opposed to 90.
January 22nd, 2011 at 10:36 AM ^
As someone who went from Grand Rapids to San Diego...uummmmm you just dont own those things lol. When you move west, the whole "winter clothes" thing is out the window!!
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:50 AM ^
Love that city. Nothing like sunny and 70-85 300 days a year.
January 23rd, 2011 at 1:03 PM ^
Agreed on SD - it's wonderful down there.
Hermosa is a bit chillier - we have winter lows in the low 50s, summer highs average low 80s and high 70s.
But we get 325 days of sun a year. Can't begin to explain how much of a difference that makes in life. I'm solar powered.

Borrowed one from my bro-in-law for a Meadowlands football game in December, then bought a man's parka for myself for the famous Pats perfect regular-season game there, which wasn't even that cold. But lots of rooms for layers underneath, and just flipping the hood over your head makes a huge difference when it's windy.
And with that the boots I bought for a working trip to Russia-- yes, that St. Petersburg. We stayed in cabins on the Gulf of Finland in February or March. The gulf was frozen over so you couldn't tell where it ended and the shore began; the sun out, people walking their dogs over the ice, passing the folks ice-fishing. It was beautiful and amazingly pleasant when you're properly dressed.
Of course, the cabins were well-heated and the banya was open for business. [We left out the tradition where you're supposed to run from the banya into the snow.]

at North Campus, the cold was unbelievable-North Campus was a bummer, especially since I wasn't an engineer.
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:05 AM ^
And sign them up. We need Brady Hoke to be The Closer.
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:16 AM ^
and I was driving around midnight, and the temps hit below 0.
Yikes, hopefully it doesn't scare anyone off.
January 22nd, 2011 at 11:53 AM ^
driving to work yesterday morning, it was -10F. Apparently it was -20 over night. Oh and my furnace is broken, been living off a gas fireplace that warms 1 room.
We shouldn't be losing recruits to Wisco

A mixed case of 1) New Glarus Hop Hearty and Tyranena Bitter Woman will pull you through.
January 22nd, 2011 at 12:00 PM ^
I live in Arizona it was 53 here last night, I'd sit at the 50 yard line butt naked for a chance to be the wolverines waterboy. Colds part of football

His new tweet is this: My #goblue nation are going to be so pleased
Sounds good to me. Keep the recruiting up Hayes.
January 22nd, 2011 at 12:43 PM ^
Not too cold today.
January 22nd, 2011 at 12:55 PM ^
That billboard must be some distance from White River Canada, I don't see any snow, the water isn't frozen and where are the moose.
January 22nd, 2011 at 2:20 PM ^
They had to wait until the summer so it would be warm enough that the camera would work.
January 22nd, 2011 at 1:08 PM ^
It sounds like the visits are going very well and the players are happy with what they see. Hopefully he is being sincere with these tweets.
January 22nd, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
I think hayes may be my new favorite recruit.....
January 22nd, 2011 at 4:09 PM ^
I still wonder if another young K is the way to go. Not that we can get an old one, lol. Seriously though, I just think we might be better off trying to get Gibbons and Broekhuizen on the right track. Both were pretty highly regarded and are still young. Bring in a walk on or 2 for competition maybe. If we are low on commits, fine, but if it's between Frank Clark or Raymon Taylor and a K like Wile, gimme the real football player every time.
We should have about 8 slots left. I'm hoping we can land Clark,Taylor,Mcclure,Bryant,Flowers,Cardale Jones,Fisher and one DL, whether Isaaka,Cooper,Heyward,Zettel or whoever.
