weekend visitors

Submitted by Thorin on

AFAIK, the visitors are Tamani Carter, Frank Clark, Justice Hayes, Stefan McClure, Tony Posada, Raymon Taylor, Matt Wile and Leilon Willingham. I'm hoping that Posada will reaffirm his commitment and Wile will be the next in, but all I've heard so far is Justic Hayes tweeting that it's "Cold den a mugg!"

A complete wuss...hell Hermosa gets cold this time of year for me. Lived down there for 3 yrs. I'm over in WeHo now. It amazes me that 50 @ night here feels chilly. Can't imagine 30's or 20's back in Michigan. Ouch!

I know its cold, but most of the recruits on campus are from the cold. Only three aren't (if you want to count the kicker) being Posada, McClure, and Wile. This could be shaping up to be a very good weekend.

If you dress for success, it really isn't a big deal to be out in the cold. Long johns are a must, winter boots, some warm socks and gloves, a few layers of shirts/sweaters, and you will be quite comfy. Oh yeah you need a winter coat too.

I know I am in the minority here, but I would rather spend two hours outside when it is 25 as opposed to 90.

Agreed on SD - it's wonderful down there.

Hermosa is a bit chillier - we have winter lows in the low 50s, summer highs average low 80s and high 70s.

But we get 325 days of sun a year.  Can't begin to explain how much of a difference that makes in life.  I'm solar powered.

Borrowed one from my bro-in-law for a Meadowlands football game in December, then bought a man's parka for myself for the famous Pats perfect regular-season game there, which wasn't even that cold.  But lots of rooms for layers underneath, and just flipping the hood over your head makes a huge difference when it's windy.

And with that the boots I bought for a working trip to Russia-- yes, that St. Petersburg.  We stayed in cabins on the Gulf of Finland in February or March.  The gulf was frozen over so you couldn't tell where it ended and the shore began; the sun out, people walking their dogs over the ice, passing the folks ice-fishing.  It was beautiful and amazingly pleasant when you're properly dressed.

Of course, the cabins were well-heated and the banya was open for business.  [We left out the tradition where you're supposed to run from the banya into the snow.]

I live in Arizona it was 53 here last night, I'd sit at the 50 yard line butt naked for a chance to be the wolverines waterboy. Colds part of football

I still wonder if another young K is the way to go. Not that we can get an old one, lol. Seriously though, I just think we might be better off trying to get Gibbons and Broekhuizen on the right track. Both were pretty highly regarded and are still young. Bring in a walk on or 2 for competition maybe. If we are low on commits, fine, but if it's between Frank Clark or Raymon Taylor and a K like Wile, gimme the real football player every time.

We should have about 8 slots left. I'm hoping we can land Clark,Taylor,Mcclure,Bryant,Flowers,Cardale Jones,Fisher and one DL, whether Isaaka,Cooper,Heyward,Zettel or whoever.
