D-day thread 3.0

Well in an hour and 15 minutes we made it to 250+ and that's with the LiveBlog slowing down some traffic.

Let's try take 3. For crying out loud we all have no life. Notice I said WE not you.

Do you think DB actually interviewed him for the position? Miles said he could not speak to the "substance" of the meeting. Why would DB discuss anything other than the coaching position? And why can't we hire a friggin' head coach? So many questions. So few answers. Head officially asplode.

In the rush to be the first to report a bit of news, journalistic integrity goes out the window.  Something like this, where everyone is grasping for any bit of insight, many reports are being made in the hopes that they are right.  It's the world we live in.  Until DB says something, very few facts are certain.

which is what this is shaping up to be.  I think we all need some quality meds to get us through this.  My professional recommendation (as a mechanical engineer) is this:

Take two with your fifth of choice and let me know how you feel in the morning.

...that leaves the door open that DB might be making an even better hire.  Or he could name Hoke and I might spontaneously combust (not over the hire but the fact that it took until now to do it).

I think I've developed a twitch the last week.  Any chance that will go away once the new coach is announced?

From Tigerdroppings, there was no late night meeting last night btw Miles and LSU:

Not much new on the Les Miles-to-Michigan story yet today. But I did just speak to LSU Associate Athletic Director Herb Vincent and he clarified a few reports that strayed from reality as last night’s events unfolded.

First, there was no late-night meeting with Miles and LSU AD Joe Alleva or other high-ranking university officials in an effort to convince the coach to stay. After Miles’ meeting with Michigan AD Dave Brandon, Miles went home.

Who knows i do not think that this is all about money for Les.  Besides i am pretty sure that DB knowing that he is closeing in on EPIC FAIL land will be willing to back up the bank to LM house to match LSU's offer.

WTF is Brandon doing?  He better be a hell of a lot smarter than I currently think he is, othewise he seriously screwed the pooch on this one.  How do we seriously not have a coach right now??  And if Les Miles just jerked us around to get a new LSU contract, I never want to hear his name associated with Michigan ever again.

While I still like Rod as a person, I officially blame him for turning me in to a neurotic Notre Dame fan.  He officially nuked my nice Michigan football cocoon that consisted of a zero embarassment, a competant defense and a bowl game every fucking year.

There was one flight from SD (Montgomery International) to Scottsdale this AM: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N991SB . There is another flight supposedly departing Willow Run arriving in Scottsdale this afternoon. It has not taken off however.

Could this just be a coincidence?

Or are we getting jilted by Miles, and now DB is meeting Hoke in Scottsdale?

Maybe Brandon will pull a Pat Riley and come down and start coaching the team himself.

Only, unlike Riley, Brandon will actually come down and start coaching the team himself.

Maybe now all the blue hair, down in front, crowd will shut the fuck up about hiring a "Michigan Man". 2 of Bo's boys turning down their "dream job", hows that for reverence to tradition and knowing what it takes? What a joke. Swallow your pride DB and give RR his job back. This is a complete failure. FML.
