Michigan Man makes Entertainment Weekly's 30 Sexiest Stars of 2010 - And he's not an athlete
Check this out. My wife told me about this recent grad (Darren Criss '09) who is now on the T.V. show Glee (as of this year). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_Criss
Apparently Entertainment Weekly just named him to their "30 Sexiest Stars of 2010". They had him as #23 out of 30. http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20430932_20452254_20891515,00.html
Slow week for news. Go Blue wherever we can.

Whaaaat? I remember this kid singing with Charlene Kaye (friend of mine) at several local concerts. That's nuts.

Taylor Lautner is #7, and grew up in the Grand Rapids area, where he was and still is a huge Michigan Fan.

The only great thing ever to come out of Hudsonville, Michigan. Just a bunch of onion farms.
December 22nd, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^

I heard they could toss the salad with syrup or jelly.
I prefer Jelly!

I'm in school and I didn't hear of glee till I came home, sister made me watch an episode.
sad, sad day.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
sorry Chestercopperpot. I should have scrolled down.
Glee as well as American's next top whatever, dancing with the stars, America's got talent and on it goes should be taken off the air.

sensitive... I've heard the show is great and they have some talented stars. I just group High School Musical, Glee and Jonas Brothers together. Probably not fair but who has time to watch that stuff.
I should have mentioned that in general I hate musicals.
December 23rd, 2010 at 12:34 AM ^
sorry I am just angry that good shows like Arrested Development and Twin Peaks get canceled. I only watch football and put sports center on in the background. I get the news from the internet and watch shows like south park ect. on net flix. This way I can only hope to never see American Idol.
December 23rd, 2010 at 1:36 AM ^
That South Park: The Movie, is basically a musical? Even the TV show has a musical number just about every other week...

Can't be bothered w/ Top 30

Nice try, but I'm not buying the "my wife told me" excuse.

You're wife told you? Yeah, and I'm Jerry Cougar Mellenkamp.

Darren is a good guy. He is actually a really talented musician as well as actor.
There are a couple other Michigan men that are breaking into Show biz as well.
Jimmy Wolk was the lead in the Fox show Lone Star. It unfortunately got cancelled but he got really good reviews in it. Went to U of M class of 2007.
Zack Pearlman, from Ann Arbor was one of the leads in the movie The Virginity Hit. Not as many people saw it as they had hoped but he is really funny. All three watch UM games at South in Santa Monica from time to time.
LA has an awesome alumni network. Tons more people work as agents, writers, producers etc... But I'm really proud of Darren. Just another reason why its great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Who can forget a Very Potter Musical?
Only part one, for the bandwidth.
(Though he did have the #1 Glee download ever....)
The only question is...where was Tom Brady on the list? We should have had 2!
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
that are in the "A Very Potter Musical" either go to UM or went to UM. They are making a production company/ theatre company Starkid Productions. They are setting up shop in Chicago now. They have a huge internet fan base of mostly teenage girls that watch and buy everything they do. It has helped them and Darren make the billboard charts. All of this right out of college.
They have made a few musicals and are working on a new one now that is space themed.

amazing how good headshots can make anyone look. Looking at his "normal" pictures, he looks like an average dude. Crazy.
December 22nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
I would have had him at number 1.
December 22nd, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
I'm very glad I have no idea who he is but am proud that another UM'er is doing great things.
December 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 PM ^
I was rooting for James Earl Jones to finally get his due.
December 22nd, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
I am not embarrased to admit that I am both a guy and a Gleek. That show is awesome. I like that guys character on the show.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
I haven't seen any of the recent episodes, but I did like Season 1, Volume 1. I'll have to keep an eye out for this character, since he went to Michigan.

I occaisonally watch Glee. For those of you who don't know, the show takes place at McKinley High School in Ohio. The show is littered with Buckeye memorabilia (pictures, etc.)
While eating at a popular restaurant (Breadstix), they made Darren Criss talk about how much he loves sports and the Buckeyes. It was a sick joke, as the producers of the show have strong ties to Ohio State and they knew he was a Michigan grad.
December 25th, 2010 at 3:47 AM ^
to get Darren to make a public statement on his twitter about loving Michigan and hating OSU.
Well, I am glad he is honoured to be called one of the sexiest stars! However, I don’t really think that this title means something at least. It is 2020 and people get older and lose their beauty. Nevertheless, the Internet makes possible for these people to date younger partners and enjoy their life. For example, https://www.seniorstodate.com/younger-women-meet-older-men.html this site will help you with it
