Trolls Fear Rich Rod
It actually makes me feel even more confident in the future of this program under Rich Rod when I see the trolling going on here by fans of other teams wanting and encouraging the dismissal of RR. The fear level of our opponents is climbing even with things still not firing on all cylinders. When we field a midling defense in the next year or two there is going to be a lot of crying in the Midwest....I doubt they will come back here and admit it though.
Thank you kind trolls for your fear----it brings warm feelings to my heart.

But how do people in the U.P. feel?
November 23rd, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^
when they import dial-up
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:10 PM ^
Kind of a gratuitous cheap shot. From a man of such stature on this Board, a bit surprising.

How many pasties do you eat per day? Where do you shop?
Seriously, I've always wanted to know these things. Where else can you drive 90 miles in the continental United States besides West Texas (a whole other discussion) and not see a single fast food place, gas station, or store?
November 23rd, 2010 at 8:27 PM ^
Try 300. I used to think that northern Michigan was sparsly populated until I moved out here. It is a whole new level of isolation once you get outside of Lubbock.
November 24th, 2010 at 12:27 AM ^
You are right, once you leave the hub there is nothing! Try driving south to Marfa, TX. You don't even have electric poles!!!! Just a baren highway with rolling hills of sage brush! Brutal!!!
November 24th, 2010 at 1:26 AM ^
Have you seen the Marfa lights? (I learned about them on King of the Hill.)
November 23rd, 2010 at 8:28 PM ^
Most people in the UP shop at their local Wal-Mart or Target like normal Americans.
The only issue is finding somewhere to park your dog sled.
But seriously, I shop at Target.
November 24th, 2010 at 6:07 PM ^
I shop at Walmart, and a Best Buy just opened pretty recently. Surprisingly enough, we actually get cable in da UP as well! Who woulda thought, hey?
November 24th, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
while i am happy that you have stopped using chunks of metal for wiring, you might be confusing people with your usage of the phrasing "get cable." in the lower peninsula, the term "Cable" refers to a type of programming that comes into the home via cords, hence the term cable.

South Dakota is a real dead zone. I think they just hide everyone in Wall Drug.
November 24th, 2010 at 8:46 AM ^
Agreed. The Dakotas are lifeless. Its very eerie.
I've driven from Chicago to Big Sky, Montana a few times. South Dakota, northeast Wyoming, and eastern Montana are barren and depressing. My car always limps into a gas station on fumes because they are so few and far between. Plus I'm sure that the moonscape of northeast Wyoming is where the people from The Hills Have Eyes live.

also: have you been shunned by the local townspeople for being a witch yet?

a former Yooper, I support RR. They bring supplies when we need them.
November 23rd, 2010 at 6:56 PM ^
Fuck everyone.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:02 PM ^
I think they just like being able to get a rise out of Michigan fans. It would be best to simply ignore it for the next couple of days.
Side note: I wouldn't be surprised if this thread attracts a few of them.
November 23rd, 2010 at 6:57 PM ^
where else could you have arguments like this? and i'm totally not attacking the OP. i am 110% serious how much i love the internet when things like this come up... like 17 yr old pregnancy "well i guess we're getting married" love. when you can have one group of people say
"They're constantly talking about Dantonio bc they're truly scared of him! CoachD!"
and then have another group say
"God Dantonio is so worth discussing because he's such a bag of douche..."
and have both sides TOTALLY believe what they're saying is true and TOTALLY run with it. Man. you can't do that at a bowling alley? this ain't no Nintendo game! the internet is fricking AWESOME.
November 23rd, 2010 at 6:59 PM ^
but it's not. Few of them even bother to acquaint themselves enough with our situation to arrive at fearful conclusions. They just suck down the koolaid in the same way the Rich haters among the alumni--nourished on the media's garbage three years running--also do.

Does OSUMC stand for Ohio State University Medical Center?
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
No I think the acronym was changed to TUOOSMC for the university of ohio state medical center in honor of their quarterback not knowing the name of his school.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:04 PM ^
This is so far offbase. MSU and OSU fans are not encouraging UM to fire RR because they fear him. If they're encouraging UM to fire him it's because firing a coach and hiring a new one is a volatile process and the odds of them pulling even further ahead of us increase (in their eyes).
MSU and OSU fans do not fear Rodriguez, believe me. And to date, they have no reason to.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:12 PM ^
This was intended more to irritate trolls than to state the obvious...I agree with you whole heartedly...I just wanted to have a little fun. Stability is scarier than all but a few coaches...
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
What tangible reason do they have to fear him?
Yeah, a good core of us have kept the faith and feel Michigan is headed in the right direction but 0-3 against MSU and 0-2 (yeah.... 0-3) against OSU doesn't necessarily invoke fear.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
(yeah.... 0-3)
That's quitter talk. After Mike Martin punches "everybody kills" in the throat with his helmet and they scramble to put some kind of offense together it will get interesting. Mike Martin is hungry and needs to feed his family.
November 23rd, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
How much money are you throwing down on Michigan this weekend?
November 24th, 2010 at 8:19 AM ^
Six thousand bazillion pieces of trident layers.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
Agreed, although my OSU relatives seem to want close scores to encourage Michigan to keep Rodriguez.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
Most OSU and MSU fans I know want Rich Rod to stick around.
November 23rd, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
Most TUOOS fans I know, and I know a lot, are even more irrational about football than I am....just sayin'. Do you honestly think any of them would admit to you if they were scared? I know more than a few TUOOS fans that believe they are a Jim Tressel away from being USC. Does that seem rational to you?
November 23rd, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
they hope he doesn't get time to put his whole system in place and are hoping beyond all hope that the dumbsters run him out of town on the pitchfork of stupidity

I don't think anyone fears this team. They might fear our offense, but Michigan fans are the only ones who fear our defense and special teams.

The idea that anyone fears Rich Rodriguez and his 6-17 Big Ten record is pretty funny.
They don't fear us. They are LAUGHING at us.
