Jerseys for Ohio State game
Has there been any talk about both teams wearing their home uniforms for the Michigan-Ohio State game? The NCAA made this legal last year, so long as both uniforms do not look too much like each other, and I think it would be great for the rivarly.
Just curious.

Hey all, I'm a huge Michigan fan and have come across a place to get 2 tickets to the ohio state game for far under face value. There are 2 tickets in Section 10C row 33. Go to iticketbid.com to at least check it out. You might be able to get them for free if you use the promo code "rivalryweek" it will give you 5 free bids. Go wolverines!

Don't they usually bust out some shitty looking retro-pro-combat type jerseys for the game?

you say usually? Their regular uniforms are shitty-looking too so it's pretty much every time they take the field.

OSU will feature its retro, used-tampon helmets this week.

Man I love those.

I still wish we'd bust out the retro "all-white" uni's again for a game. What most people don't remember (and you have to north of 50 like me to remember) is that until 1976 we did not wear yellow pants on the road every game. We frequently went all white with yellow piping. I know i'm in the minority here but I think they looked good.
November 22nd, 2010 at 12:47 PM ^
White pants were only worn on the road in 1974 and 1975.

Really? My mistake. i knew we wore them when I was in my teens and then stopped. I had assumed (incorrectly obviously) that we had worn them prior as well.
Ok then....let me restate then. I'd like to see us wear our 74-75 retro all-white jersey's again for a game.

I am with you, I can remember Leach's freshman year wearing the raod whites. They look great.

the retro Michigan wins vs Ohio State.

Has the team busted out the new Adidas tech-fit jerseys yet? Supposed to be 30% smaller and lighter.
November 22nd, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
No. The players apparently vetoed them because they were too tightly fit.
November 22nd, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
Which means they must've been pretty bad because players usually go apeshit for that type of stuff. The Nike pants have a titanium buckle "to save weight" because they know it is a wow feature. It's all marketing fluff and I'm glad our players don't use it if it doesn't work.
btw, duh I know titanium is lighter than steel or whatever they're currently using in those buckles. What I mean is that the weight savings you get from the switch is going to be negligible on something the size of a person. "Sykes! I need you to hit the gym and lose 0.5 grams before the game on Saturday!" Besides, aren't there lots of players that want to weigh more to be more difficult to tackle? It seems like weight savings in football equipment could be a double-edged sword.

Don't do it Six Zero!
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:41 PM ^
They actually make freakin' Jihad-bringin' Taliban Lego people these days?
I want my childhood back...
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
a ridiculously insensitive joke... I just wanted the lego-grenades
November 22nd, 2010 at 4:01 PM ^
I don't think we need to worry too much about the Taliban's feelings being hurt.
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:18 PM ^
I think Maize jerseys would really be a nice touch for this game.
Ed: No longer right below six zero, kinda loses its meaning.
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:26 PM ^
but I google imaged "Lego Man Grenade" and to my surprise, they actually make lego man grenades. I didn't see your post when I made mine... hopefully we don't see something from Six Zero like this:

White/White Uni's look horrible, I don't get why people keep asking for them.
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:50 PM ^
Obviously not everyone thinks they "look horrible" as a lot of schools wear all whites when on the road.
1. I want to keep RR
2. I want to lose Gerg
3. I want us to wear all white uni's to one road game a year.
I realize I'm in the minority on this one but two out of three ain't bad.
November 22nd, 2010 at 2:15 PM ^
I feel the same way. I feel especially strong about ideas 1 and 2. All white uniforms would be great, too, but dont see that happening. I would love maybe an all maize or all blue uniform against ND next year under the lights as well. I know some people dont feel too strongly about the all maize, which is fine, this is just my opinion. Bottom line is, I could really give a shit less about which uniforms we wear as long as we win. Im so sick of losing to osu. I live in western Pa where there are Buckeye fans everywhere. My roommates and close friends all like osu. Its been a long 7 years as Im sure it has been for all of you guys too.

Sigh. I think I'm going to sit MGoBlog out for awhile.

The team hated the retros that addidas made for Um this year. Too tight around the neck and didn't fit right. Addidas cannot get American football right!
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
and that's exactly where they should stay, too.
I hope for RR's sake that he never gets any silly ideas about maize road jerseys.
November 22nd, 2010 at 2:13 PM ^
NCAA rules don't even allow colored jerseys on the road, unless the home team is wearing white.
November 22nd, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
They changed it a few years back:
http://web1.ncaa.org/web_files/rules/fielddiagrams/football.pdf (pg 14)
If the home team wears colored jerseys, the visiting team may also wear colored jerseys, if and only if the following conditions have been satisfied:(a) The home team has agreed in writing prior to the game; and(b) The conference of the home team certifies that the jersey of the visiting team is of a contrasting color.
November 22nd, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
this changed within the last couple of years. USC/UCLA wanted to go back to a red on blue game and did a couple years ago - penalty was a lost time out, and the other team took one too, after this, the NCAA changed the rule so that you could have games without one team wearing white.
The original one-team-must-wear-white rule was for black and white TVs, so they don't really care about it anymore

yeah, ohio state is doing their stupid fashion show again this year
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:53 PM ^
Don't mess with the uni's, I hate it when teams like Oregon change their uniform every week like some teenage girl who can't makeup her damn mind.
November 22nd, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
should transfer to Oregon State and be Beavers
November 22nd, 2010 at 3:08 PM ^
that lego taliban comment was great! +1 to you sir. Ohio State are wearing the stupid combat uniforms, just like the NFL are going to be wearing.
November 22nd, 2010 at 3:42 PM ^
Who honestly gives a shit, Ohio State can wear pink jerseys for all I care.
