OT - Pryor Says He'll Be Back for Senior Seaso
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5792515
I have to say, his comments stink. All he cares about is coming back to put himself in the record books. What a team player he is...
November 11th, 2010 at 4:01 PM ^
Where else was he going?
November 11th, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
If they drafted Tebow, they'd draft this kid
November 11th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
Even Pat White got a few years as a wildcat QB before they cut him. Pryor will likely get the same gig.
Pat White now plays baseball, weird....
November 11th, 2010 at 4:42 PM ^
or freak athlete who passed up being drafted into the MLB in order to play quarterback for Coach Rodriguez?
November 11th, 2010 at 5:04 PM ^
I'm pretty sure he gave up at least 6 figures to play or keep playing football for RR and then try the NFL.
Pryor really has nothing to offer the NFL besides his name, which is all he's had to show off since high school. He should have gone to Oregon.
November 11th, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
Yea, pat white was drafted in the first round i believe.. Pretty sick ball player
November 11th, 2010 at 8:49 PM ^
He should have played receiver.
November 12th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
He still might. And for the guy above you, he should have gone to Oregon? I still wish he had come here.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:24 PM ^
He would not have been drafted where he was. I am not saying he wouldn't have been drafted, but definitely not 1st round

What was JaMarcus Russel's 40 time? Yards, not ounces.
November 11th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
4.1 seconds if he needs a fix
6 plus seconds any other time
November 11th, 2010 at 9:53 PM ^
^ Made me laugh out loud....I'm now cleaning my computer moniter to get the Pepsi off of it before it turns sticky....Well played sir.
November 11th, 2010 at 5:00 PM ^
Only Josh McDaniels and the Broncos would draft him in the first round, what a terrible choice.
November 11th, 2010 at 5:35 PM ^
I think resume and intangibles like "leadership" and "character" and "not an ass" are what give Tebow a leg up on Pryor.
That said, I think Pryor will get drafted due to his measurables. Just not sure he'll be drafted as a QB.
November 12th, 2010 at 2:36 AM ^
Jamarcus Russell.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
did you REALLY just put them together in the same category! Tebow irritated me while at florida and on draft night i almost fell off my couch in disbelief that my Denver Broncos had drafted Tebow! i have gotten behind the future HOPE for Tebow to do well. He is a proven winner both athletically and character! there was a certain freakin buckeye that went to Denver a few years ago that you should probably lump together with Pryor! Just saying. what an assanine comment! However, Go Blue beat purdue!
Edit: this is in response to Crex, not sure why it is down here?
November 12th, 2010 at 6:51 AM ^
Well aside from a completely different moral compass yes lets compare the two.
Gifted athletes :Check
NFL size: Check
NFL Speed: Check
Big time school: Check
Solid arm strength: Check
Poor throwing motion: Check
Able to win big games: Check (Damn you Oregon)
So you see while I just threw up in my mouth a little typing this list they are pretty close in regards to measurables. Pryor will definitely get drafted though I don't see someone taking a shot on him in the first few rounds. If unlike Tebow however he agrees to play anywhere on the field he could get drafted pretty decently. Remember the NFL already has no shortage of idiots. Whats one more.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:40 PM ^
That's why he is coming back...for now
November 11th, 2010 at 5:56 PM ^
When it comes to academics at UM but is there anyway this MORON would have stayed eligible here? He needs to have someone following him around at all times recording what he says because he never dissapoints.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:02 PM ^
Was there any chance he gets drafted in the first three rounds if he came out? What a non-piece of news.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
Why wouldn't he come back? There likely isn't going to be an NFL next year because of the lockout/labor negotiations. Thats why there were a record number of juniors leaving last year.
Whats the point of coming out early and getting drafted if you can't sign a contract or play. Don't think any program is going to have to do a lot of worrying about their juniors leaving early this spring.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:02 PM ^
Pyor rejected us left a gaping hole at QB that made us more attractive to both Denard and Tate.
Remind me to send that nice boy a fruit basket for Christmas.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
I'm sure he already sees plenty of fruit baskets. ZING!

Pryor would have been Cam Newton...errrr, before there was a Cam Newton, if he had come to UM. UM would have probably won at least two more games in 2008 and 2009 if Pryor had been the QB.
He has been "solid to good" at OSU (he is actually having his best season this year, yet oddly, is getting less Heisman-hype than previous seasons) but he would have been an unstoppable beast in UM's offense.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
This is good news. Otherwise they may actually find a quarterback.
ALSO -
"I feel like I want to get my degree and finish off strong and maybe have a better season next year with no losses," he said. "I love being here and I need to develop more knowledge as a human being and not worry about money and stuff like that.
We are going to kick their asses next year. I don't think he realizes this yet.
"My mom works a little bit so I can use some of her money, and the money that we get here," Pryor said, referring to his scholarship and stipends that athletes receive for expenses. "I don't really have to worry. I can suffer another year, I just want to gain more knowledge as a human being before I leave."
Yeah, suffer. this is funny.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:11 PM ^
I can suffer another year,
That is actually the most accurate thing I have ever heard from him.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:12 PM ^
I'm glad he wants to gain knowledge as a human being, and not some other species.
November 11th, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
Made me bust out laughing in the middle of class. Damn you!
November 11th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Maybe he'll minor in martians and spend some time studying to gain a better knowledge of Lil' Wayne
November 11th, 2010 at 4:44 PM ^
baby.
November 11th, 2010 at 5:09 PM ^
It must be SO hard to be the QB of a top 10 team and having girls all over your nuts. I'm glad I don't have those problems!
November 11th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
Stipends? More like $tipend$! AMIRIGHT?
November 11th, 2010 at 6:16 PM ^
You are right. Stipends involve $$$.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
another year to hate him. and a chance to beat him in the big house.
not OT, btw.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
He should enjoy another year of basket weaving and free style rapping before the cruel real world kicks him in the nuts.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
Who cares?
/said while reading newspaper
//not Freep obvsly
November 11th, 2010 at 4:08 PM ^
as opposeed to taking the big $$ to go to Auburn. ZING!
There would be an opening since there's NO WAY Newton's still around next year... time for his next patcheck too.
November 11th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
I was thinking about this earlier, but Newton is gone for sure. I think it is funny less than a week ago, we had "Cam Newton dodging NFL question". There is no way he is coming back, lockout or not. Hell, even if he is innocent, there is no reason to stay. Though leaving will definitely look like admission of guilt to a lot of people.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:10 PM ^
Tebow won a heisman winner and Pat White was a better thrower and runner than Pryor. Who would want that shot put motion in the pocket?
November 11th, 2010 at 4:30 PM ^
Like it or not TP is definately one with his size/speed/strength.
Google Mike Mamula if you don't believe me. He will definately go in the top 3 rounds whenever he chooses to leave.
Also - look up youtube videos of Matt Jones, former Arkansas QB - who if he weren't white would get compared to TP a lot. He was drafted in the first round IIRC and turned into a WR.
With all that being said, F*ck off TP....please lose your next 3 games
November 11th, 2010 at 11:48 PM ^
well at least lose the third, that's all I ask.
November 11th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
True, but I have never seen someone with that kind of size, speed and strength that is so afraid of contact. I have seen him run OOB a yard short of the marker on third down so that he wouldn't get hit by a DB. I agree that since he has neither the arm nor the head to be an NFL QB, he is probably going to be WR like Jones. If he cannot handle any contact in college, however, he is definitely going to struggle with the bigger and faster players in the NFL.
November 12th, 2010 at 10:02 AM ^
to you know...avoid getting injured. I wouldn't say he can't handle any contact.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPlgMUPnprQ (stiff arms D end to the turf)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYnR1wbshec (blows up DB to get the 1st)
Denard may be wise to try and avoid a bit of contact once in a while. Not being a dick but if you can show me where he ran out untouched a yard before the first on 3rd down, I will give you credo.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:14 PM ^
Of course he's coming back. He's not going in the first few rounds of the draft.
Try as he might, he's not a pocket passer and has no future as an NFL quarterback. Perhaps he should've gone to a school with a spread offense to maximize his talents instead of trying to shoehorn a square peg into a round hole.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:16 PM ^
"My mom works a little bit so I can use some of her money, and the money that we get here"
hmmm.... dear NCAA, please look into the buckeyes paying TP
November 11th, 2010 at 4:17 PM ^
how he scores on the wonderlic tests when he does decide to go pro. Everytime this kid interviews he becomes a little less intelligent. As far as being a buckeye until he breaks records? What records is he even within sight of breaking? Develop more knowledge as a human being??? No wonder Tressel doesn't like him interviewing. He's making Clarrett look like Einstein
