I hope this isn't too political - but did you see MSU went to see Hamilton?

I understand that right after the show, to give the Spartans some historical perspective, Tom Izzo said this....
Imagine that I am Alexander Hamilton.
And John Beilein is Aaron Burr.
good on them...
that's a pretty cool thing for them to see, so i don't have anything bad to say about that whatsoever...
I'm thinking more along the lines of Nero.
That's not fair to Napoleon. He wasn't actually that short.
the best.
that is all.
everyone should see it!
or, if you don't have $1000 to spare, just listen to it - almost as good as the live thing.
The Hamilton play is the most subversive, most racist, and most hate-filled play to ever appear on Broadway. Hamilton exists to purposely drive a wedge between people. I AM NOT JOKING.
I was lucky enough to see 'Hamilton' in New York during its original run with the original cast for next to nothing (my brother knows Lin's father personally) and I truly can't imagine seeing it under any other circumstance...
6th row, too.
I certainly wouldn't call the musical overrated but the lengths that some are going to see what's comparable to what I witnessed on stage that night boogles my frickin' mind.
1) Why would this be political? They went to see a musical. I mean, I know about the stuff with the VP from last year, but I don't see how that relates at all.
2) Why do we care that they went to see a musical? I mean, good for them I guess. I'm glad the MSU athletic department supports the arts and all. But I mean, our whole football team went to Italy. I don't see what the significance of the MSU basketball team going to a musical is, even a really popular, expensive one.
It's playing at the Fisher and they have lots of time.
And he's not wrong - Beilein and Burr respectively outdueled Izzo and Hamilton in contests involving accurate shooting.
