Indy Pete - Go Blue

This team continues to pull out ugly games. 19-6, yet the board makes it sounds like we are on the NIT bubble like Wisconsin, IU, Iowa, and northwestern. Yes, awful start to 2nd half, but I still expect us to pull out another win here.

It was a bad decision — he needed to pull it back out there. He’s exhausted — with Livers out, he’s played pretty much 25 straight game minutes — but, more to the point, he needs to know he’s not getting a bail-out foul call on the road. He just didn’t have the legs to get it to the basket before help arrived.

The continued, recurrent, random bullshit from the stripes is what makes this sport blow. Time to watch something less frustrating...like cable news.

Well, first he tries to break MAAR’s shoulder and gets a common foul out of it; now he slaps at him and gets rewarded with a jump ball call. Kid seems to be a punk.

If anyone is frustrated there is a truly terrific game on FS1. Butler fought back from a big deficit to take a lead only for Xavier to get it back late. Now Butler has 6 straight points to make it a 1 point game in the final seconds.

Does that sound like John Beilein’s game? The purpose of the press is to make teams uncomfortable and knock them out of their offensive game plan — specifically, to speed them up. Sprinting to try to beat their press plays right into their hands. The way to beat the press is to have good court vision and make solid passes.

Now Skelly takes a dive and gets rewarded with a phantom foul call. Apparently he’s their secret weapon.

Phantom foul on us, of course. Even Northwestern - playing in a gym with a 50/50 crowd split - gets home court calls that we never get at Crisler.

I don’t know what sorcery John Beilein used to get this team to 19 wins, but there are a lot of very limited players here. 3 guys (incl. Robinson) can’t shoot. A few can’t play defense. A few can barely dribble.
