"Hart is one of the most heavily recruited running backs in the country for the class of 2011. He has accumulated more than 30 scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), Notre Dame and Ohio State." This is what coach Rod brings to the table; when is the last time a highly recruited back not from the state of Michigan chose us? I can hardly wait to see what commits fall our way when the program is back to it's perennial winning form...

Take out the state of Michigan part, since Tyrone Wheatley was about the last highly rated back from MI that did anything (sorry Grady, not so sorry Kelly). Virtually all of our big backs since we won the national title were from out of state, and I believe Carr recruited all of them. It was a very silly comment either way you slice it.

it's been so long since I've grimaced with chagrin, but yeah, Sam was certainly a big pick up outside the state of Michigan. I keep forgetting he wasn't one of Coach Rod's guys, that he was one of the last-if not the last-commit for Coach Carr. Still, *draws another line in the sand* I double dare ya to step over that line because I don't...uh, believe we had another candidate for "back everyone wanted" that didn't come from the state of Michigan. Besides Sam. C'mon, I double dare ya...

Alabama, Florida, OSU, ND, AND USC? I don't think so. Justin Fargas, Sam McGuffie probably make that list, but most of our RB's do not. We've had some great backs, don't get me wrong, but most were not given that kind of love. Mike Shaw for example got plenty of love, but he wasn't offered by OSU, ND, 'SC or Alabama; he's a talented back, but not all the big time schools wanted him. I'm getting that info off the Rivals site, not off the top of my head. Dee Hart, on the other hand, all the big time schools have offered...and it looks like we're in the catbird seat. For this to happen on the hind end of back to back losing seasons makes me look forward to our recruiting when we are winning. That's what I meant to say, thank you. *sits down*

if I'm in the wrong, I don't want any sugarcoat. I think for the most part that's the way it is here, you say something factual it better be accurate; no one wants to deal with bull#$%^. Besides, I don't take things personal, it's not like I'm saying anything really heart-felt. Well actually, 'Hart-felt' I suppose, but not "heart-felt". On with the show...

I usually agree with you when someone gets jumped on for a comment, but his was just silly. No major backs from out of state? First of all, we haven't had a back from in-state for a while, so is he saying we haven't had a major back period? Guys like Anthony Thomas, BJ Askew, Chris Perry, Mike Hart (although not much of a recruit) and our recent guys Brandon Minor, Carlos Brown and Michael Shaw probably take issue with that. Just as ridicuous: "Brennan Beyer! Look what RR can do! If only Lloyd could have brought in a decent in-state pass-rushing DE."

a) You're certainly in a sassy mood. b) No, I don't know what he's trying to say. His comment was centered around the "fact" that highly-touted out-of-state running backs rarely come to Michigan, which is just about the opposite of the truth. He even admitted it. Why do you have a problem with it? c) I don't have any butt buddies, but if you're offering...I'm still not interested.

Fun Fact: My fiancee went to high school (and was friends with) Justin Fargas. As well as Kirsten Dunst and Summer from the OC (whose name escapes me). Also, Fargas' dad was Huggy Bear (sp?) on Starsky and Hutch.

Is it more effective to boycott them altogether or to try and give them behavior modification by only clicking when they have something good to say about UM? Since the level of writing there isn't really all that compelling, anyway, I continue to boycott.

I will definitely continue to boycott. You know they will trot out the same "We were right!" garbage during the upcoming NCAA hearing. They are currently trying to regain the readership of Michigan fans, just so there are more clicks once the "2010 RR Smear Campaign" kicks into high gear. Don't fall for it. The Freep is still a despicable publication.
