I think despite being a young team, there's too much talent onboard to lose 3-4 B1G games. The problem with any preseason poll is that it's based on what happened the previous year, and while we had a more seasoned team, we have more talent now. A lot depends on QB play. Speight's proven and doesn't get rattled easily.

But this is just blind bias for Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. I'm pretty sure if Ohio State and Florida State met on the field with their current rosters Florida State would win by 2 touchdowns

That probably helps their cause.  Also, I'm not totally buying the Deondre Francois hype just yet.  I think he'll be better than senior JT Barrett by his senior or junior year.  I don't know if he's there yet.

Also, FSU doesn't have Dalvin Cook anymore.  I'm still upset the Lions didn't make a play for him in the draft.

I don't feel like we are decidedly worse than anyone from #6-#10. Put us as #11. Fine. We'll win games. And PSU will get exposed somewhere, but unfortunately Wisconsin could hang around playoff contention due only to their very typical Wisconsin schedule.

Are not better teams then us.  No shot.  Winning at PSU, if a night game, will be a challenge.  Night games in college football are a huge advantage.  But talent wise, coaching wise... we are definitely superior to both.

Buckeyes of course will be tough.  Going to need to play lights out.

The B1G radar before we climb the mountain to the TOP!  After we destroy Florida we will be in the top 10.  Steady climb culminated by one of the biggest victories ever on 11/25.

The big question is this:

Who in the actual FUCK gave MSU a vote? Must be some MSU fan who is clinging to the mere hope of that team not having another bad year.

#11 to start is fair accounting for the departures, current good talent and coaching. There's more variability in the season than usual though, so I could see us finishing anywhere from #5 to #20.

Actually, according to the poll tracker I saw, th sole MSU vote was from a guy out west named Jon Wilner of the Mercury News, which is San Jose's paper, I think.

To each their own, I guess, but yikes....ever hopeful, he is.

Northwestern, Nebraska, and Michigan State. Gotta say, pretty ballsy choice for whoever gave Michigan State a vote after last year, but maybe there will be a regression to the mean.

Mike Valenti get a vote?  If not, I don't know who the hell did that.  What could you possibly base a Michigan State Top 25 ranking on this year.  They aren't particularly talented.  They aren't particularly experienced.  They don't even have a full roster of players.  That is puzzling.

Valentin actually thinks MSU will be terrible this year. He's a homer for sure, but his homerism mostly manifests as Michigan hate rather than Blind faith in MSU.

No efffing way are Auburn, OK St., Wisc, OK, and PSU better than us.

There---we are already up to No. 7.  At least Leach would be happy!  Don't buy this media BS.  We are going to be good, and perhaps even challenge for a playoff spot.  If we get in, watch out!  We are a potentially great team by the end of the season.
