OT: Notre Dame throwbacks for Navy game
These are at least interesting. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with when their new coach opens his tenure next season against Michigan.

If Endzone is any indication, that would be AD Jack Swarbrick. Good ol' Dave Brandon approved all uniform decisions and then threw Adidas under the bus and acted like they were forcing Michigan's hand.

I actually don't think the uniforms are that bad, but saying "the lid" and "the kicks" gives that special kind of cringe like only ND can.

I feel embarrased for even watching that mess.

Can they incorporate some type of logo or phrase to embrace their fall fundraising efforts? That would be great.

"The Pitch"
"The Collection"
"The Whale"

These are pretty sweet. Way better than the disaster throwbacks they trotted out recently. The problem with throwbacks for us is pretty much any uniform that isn't our standard uniform is a downgrade, but if we did do throwbacks I'd love that same leather helmet style with the winged helmet. Another option I think would be amazing is a "black and white" version of our uniforms to honor days of yore when all recorded images of our team were in black and white. A Raiders-esque black and silver/white uniform, with a black helmet and silver/white wings would be pretty badass for a throwback.

No. We are not Oregon. We are maize and blue.

Are these the new Robin Hood 2.0???

I think these are really good, actually. Old style shoes and helmet styling. Good way to honor Notre Dame's ample history.
And honoring their history is important, because their present is pretty awful. Their uniforms will bring the school honor; the play on the field this season is likely to do the opposite.

Those shoes are AWESOME.

I like the shoes. I think the helmets are ugly.

Very cool. Great idea.

I know this board will hate (1) alternate uniforms and (2) Notre Dame, but I think these are completely awesome. I doubt I'll watch the Navy game, but I can't wait to see them in action in photos or highlights.

I don't want to click. Because fuck them. Can someone please do this for me? And probably others? Or don't.
August 18th, 2017 at 1:42 PM ^
I have to admit I thought I would hate them, basically because it's ND. But, I have to admit I think they are pretty cool and do have a real throwback look to them.
August 18th, 2017 at 3:08 PM ^
Yeah, lots of uniforms from back in the day had motivational speeches printed on the shoulder cap.

And the future is pretty bleak for ole ND -- hasn't even sold out its season opener in a renovated stadium.

These are great. Was expecting to see trash when I clicked the link.

I'd just like to state, once again, how glad I am that we don't fuck around with our all-time classic uniform any more.

Okay, who here works at Under Armour? We need to Rick Roll them, it would be the greatest thing ever if the jerseys actually showed up with "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down" printed.
We've got to have someone, right?

Saw them and liked them more than I expected. Can't wait to see what they will wear for Brian Kelly's last game against us this year.
No matter how bad they do, I don't think he will get fired this year, but then a beatdown at the hands of Michigan in South Bend will make them have no choice. He'll get fired Sunday morning.

Now I don't have to wonder about this anymore.
